My husband and I went to Barcelona to celebrate our anniversary, and had a great time. The dishes featured ingredients I never would have thought to combine (i.e., watermelon, feta cheese, and oil and vinegar), but they melded together beautifully. Be aware that the restaurant is not visible from the street and is located behind The Toy Chest; we didn't know that and spent about 10 minutes walking up and down Farmington Ave looking for it! Overall, highly recommended. Pros: Food was fantastic, great atmosphere Cons: A little pricey

One of my favorites in West Hartford Center, great food and an even better wine selection. Service is always impeccable whether in the restaurant, bar, or indoor/outdoor patio. Also, late Friday nights they have a DJ come in to the bar area and he's a great addition. Low key atmosphere with people out for a good time, no fraternity feel whatsoever.

My husband and I have been searching for a vegetarian friendly romantic atmosphere to enjoy on special occasions or with friends. My husband is an excellant cook and so we have high expectations when it comes to food and being we are both vegetarians makes us even more picky. We have tried barcelona twice and had an amazing dinner both times. There chef is very inovative and after having a quick conversation with the manager we found out there menu changes according to the seasonal produce, some of which they pick up locally in CT. BIG Points for that. Being a tapas place it's great so you can try a variety of dishes which comes with excellent service. We highly recommend it for any meat or veggie lover that is looking for a place with a modern romantic atmosphere and great locally grown food. Make sure to make reservations on the weekend and tell them you appreciate that they use local food.
