My husband and I have been craving Thai and we decided to go here for our Anniversary. The waitstaff was really nice, but the food was horrible. My husband got the pad thai and it was a plate of noodles with chopped peanuts on top with a few shrimps. I got the Cho Chee curry dish, the sauce was good, but it was frozen veggies. The chicken sa tay was like it had been microwaved and the crab bags were not very good either. We should have left after the appetizers, because we knew it was not going to be good. Very disappointing! It is like the fast food of Thai food!
Pros: Nice wait staff
Cons: Horrible food

I cannot believe what this restaurant tried to serve us as food. The noodles they served us smelled off and the chicken tasted as though it was weeks old! Completely gross! The rest of the food tated old and re-heated! The wait staff was very friendly but that is not what I came there for. I thought it was going to be good based on the location, but it was the worst ever!
Pros: Service is good

I have had Pad Thai at numerous other restaurants and I have made it many times at home. The Shrimp Pad Thai here was nothing more than overcooked rice noodles with some bland shrimp and a few chopped peanuts. This was nothing like the authentic, most famous Thai noodle dish I have had or cooked before. There was no flavor....that combination of sweet, sour, salty & spicy was non existent. I couldn't taste any of that distinct Thai seasoning of fish sauce (a staple in all Thai dishes). Pad Thai is usually a little sweet, tart & spicy and made with scrambled eggs and topped with crunchy bean sprouts and either garnished with cilantro and/or scallions. The Pad Thai here had none of these ingredients. I was very very disappointed considering this was my first time at Lemon Grass. Aside from that, the Beef Satays were dry and the meat was cut wrong (along the grain instead of across the grain) so it was both dry and chewy. Please try another Thai restaurant!!! Don't waste your money.
Pros: service was good
Cons: food lacked flavor & not authentic.

I've been to this restaurant a few times and every experience has been lovely! The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, the food that I have had has been very good, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Being a vegetarian who doesn't do well with spicy or hot foods, I really love the menu set-up because they divide an entire two pages worth of vegetarian items out for you, and label the meals if they are hot, spicy, or both. If you want to try two excellent dishes, I recommend the Vegetable Pad Thai and the Tofu Coconut Milk soup. I come back to this place especially for that soup! It is the MOST delicoius soup I have EVER had!
Pros: Atmosphere, service, vegetarian options and taste
Cons: Not sure how the non-vegetarian items are

Lemongrass has a great, high-profile location in West Hartford Center. It's probaby busy because of its location, and therefore doesn't NEED to also offer good food. We ordered a number of Thai standards, like Tom Kai soup, Pad Thai, Panang, spring rolls and chicken satay. Every single dish was below average. The soup was extremely bland and contained only broth and chicken -- none of the mushrooms or lemongrass (ironically, given the restaurant's name) that this dish should contain. The satay was dried out, the spring rolls were heavy and grease-soaked, and the panang and pad thai were nothing like what you'd get in an authentic Thai restaurant. I told a friend about our experience, and he said he ate here once and never returned. I will certainly follow that lead. If you are in West Hartford looking for good Thai, check out King & I Thai Restaurant 1901 Park St Hartford, or Siam Cuisine Thai 312 Park Rd West Hartford.
Pros: Convienent location
Cons: Everything else
