The Scene
Noah Webster, the man responsible for every spelling test you've ever taken, was born and raised in this small colonial farmhouse. The house has been restored to reflect Webster's life in the late 1700s with early editions of Webster's dictionary, blue-backed spellers, clocks and a desk.
The Best
Historical interpreters dressed in period clothing take visitors on hour-long tours, answer questions, and oversee activities. Ever carded wool? Woven on a loom? The curious just might get to here. A video on Webster's life and accomplishments further enlightens the history-curious.
The Rest
Herbs, flowers and vegetables grow in the colonial garden, just outside the kitchen. Getting hungry? Some of the best restaurants in the area are located within two miles of the museum.
