Barb's is famous for their specialty pizzas and also pizzas by the slice.
Many times, we would not even be able to find a parking spot, because that many people were always in & out enjoying the pizza!
The slices are big - and the prices are good.
The specialty pizzas are a little pricey, but worth it! They have so many varieties of pizzas - some that you might have heard of....and some that you might not have!
The onion one is fantastic - and the BBQ is wonderful too.
A great place for something a little different!

We ate at Butterfly this evening and had a wonderful dinning experience. We went there becasue we saw the ad in CT Magazine at it's award as best Chinese Restaurant Statewide. So we thought we would give it a try. Our Waiter Ken was very helpful getting my husband and 2 children through the extensive menu. Our drinks came out in a timely manner and we ordered Teriyaki Beef and Scallion Pancakes as apps. I ordered Scheiwan Style Toefu off their new "Chinese" menu. My husband ordered Chrispy Shrimp with Walnuts, my eldest son ordered Lamb Two Style and my younger son ordered General Tso's Chicken. The food was excellent, we had plenty of leftovers, and the service was great! The atmosphere was nice, live piano music, and we sat next to the fish tank which my youngest loved!

the food was great, the atmosphere is much more romantic than you would expect. this is a hidden gem in west hartford. if your looking to have a nice night out in west hartford center, this should definitely be on your list of places to eat!
Pros: romantic atmosphere, location, great food
Cons: a little heavy on the bank, but what can you do.

Good italian food with other options as well. A bit pricey but good atmosphere and free refills. The bar area is a good place if you're lookin to meet wealthy people and maybe get married. Doc Rogers is a staple there with his crazy cars. Anything on the menu is good but I recommend the chicken, it's delish. Great outdoor seating, you can see Webster Bank and the Post Office and watch people get out of nice cars. A good place for a date or for the family, usually a long wait so reservations are a good idea.

This is the best pizza place in Connecticut, been going there for years. Friendly family owned staff, with classic greek style pizza (square slices). Hasn't been updated in a few years but it's all part of the Pizza West experience. Located just outside of downtown West Hartford on the quiet street of Raymond Road near where the new Blue Back square is scheduled to be located. Pizza is a bit greasy but delicious nonetheless, the best combo for toppings is hamburger and bacon. Say hi to the owner, he's great!

The pistachio crusted goat cheese salad haunts my dreams. I admit, I was skeptical at first- the salad itself looked like horse food.
However, I tasted it and couldn't get enough. I will recreate it for my family dinner on Sunday.
The proscuitto pizza was delish. The croissant bread pudding could have been better but was a nice comforting finish.

This restaurant was designed to please people who enjoy Asian food, great jazz, and an occasional dance, as well as those who want to eat out without putting on airs. Yes, you can wear your jeans, your tux or your business suit. You can order Chinese or Japanese, whichever is your pleasure. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The Chinese entrees are flavorful and the serving sizes are healthy. Here's the thing... if you want to hear jazz, it is one of the two premier jazz venues in the Greater Hartford area.
