My boyfriend and I have been to the Elbow Room many times. We have always enjoyed the great food and cozy atmosphere. However a few weeks ago we went and were served at the bar by an extremely un kept and rude bartender. Her name is Balina -or maybe Valina? Hard to tell through her mumbling and disgusted look on her face. I asked her a few times to make a simple cosmo in which she seemed to have never heard of. I thought it was pretty simple and common. Apparently not. She was very slow to make the drinks but very quick to drop the bill each time with anticipation of her tip. I have never had such awful service. And the appearance of her stained clothes and messy hair was very unappetizing. We decided this one awful experience wouldn't stop us from going to one of our favorite restaurants and enjoying wonderful food. Instead we will just make it very clear that she will not be the one serving us. I suggest everyone does the same.

The Elbow Room is located in downtown West Hartford located and would make the perfect lunch stop during a day of shopping. It is a contemporary, upscale style establishment with moderate prices and delicious food. There is on street metered parking outside, and local parking lots within a short walking distance. Friendly staff, clean, and great food.

Elbow Room is all atmosphere. Make sure you eat somewhere else because the menu leaves alot to be desired. The view, people, and ambiance is what you pay for when you buy an eight dollar mix drink. Nothing says summer more than an evening on the roof of the Elbow Room with a gin and tonic in my hand. and bartenders are awesome, drinks aren't watered down and are served quickly. Elbow Room attracts a nice late 20's and 30 something crowd, good to know if you don't like to hang with barely legals after work. I wish they could get there food up to par with other restaurants in the area, but it is a great place to hang after a good meal elsewhere.

Elbow Room is good for one thing, sitting on the roof and being able to people watch without them noticing you staring. The food is overpriced and overrated. The appetizers are usually pretty decent and restaurant does have a good overall atmosphere with good staff. Worth the trip at least once, has good burgers. A nice place to go after work and get a drink on the top floor watchin West Hartford center's hussle and bussle. For the price there are better restaurants in the center
