Jerry's is awesome! I went to Hartford Art School and I was one of the many unlucky freshman who didn't have my car because of the outrageous prices the school charged for a parking permit. On the first day of school I realized I didn't have any of the supplies I needed on the lists the professors handed out. Jerry's actually rented a limo that took the students back and forth from the art school to the store for about a week. They do it every year and it was one of the highlights of my freshman year. They are reasonably priced and always have great sales.

Jerry's has a wide selection of art supplies and picture frames. Jerry also has a framing department that will frame your painting/picture for you. I had a medium sized painting frame there for about $150. The salesperson was very helpful in helping me pick out the right frame and the framer did an excellent job. If you need something framed, I highly recommend.

We do about 75% of our art supply shopping at this store, which is the best in the area. By best, I mean comprehensive, and best prices. The selection is impressive for a Hartford art store, and we've been able to get good advice and tips from the staff. As with any art supply store, price is an issue, and we find Jerry's to be reasonable. They have specials, and also a discount card (which you purchase for a one year membership, but with us it paid for itself on the first visit). Would like it to include more hand drafting supplies (templates, etc)

Best place around to get art supplies. They have everything for the average artist to the professionals. They have great stationary too. Very knowledable staff since most of them are artists themselves. Good place to get stuff to make scrab books if you're into that. Also have good assortment of pens for the office if you like only the best pens. Worth the drive and parking in the rear in busy elmwood community.
