The food is impeccable, but you will pay for it. Their caesar salad (made table-side) is world-class, as are their steaks, seafood, wines, and desserts. I only go here when I'm willing to spend about $200+ for myself and 1 other person...you'll want to have drinks, appetizers, salad, entrees, and dessert - trust me, don't skip dessert. The pepper-crusted filet is to die for, as is the creme brulee. Just be careful about your wine selection - I ordered a bottle of $55 wine once and they charged me $110 for the entire bottle...I guess they brought me the wrong one! When I balked, they would not take the additional $55 off my tab. I am still sore over that, but I will eventually go back anyway!

Dilworthtown Inn is one of those 'special occasion' places as the place is very pricey, but the service is superb and the food is even better. I would rank it as probably the single best restaurant in the west Chester, PA, area. The decor is beautifully and tastefully understated and rustic and the outdoor area is fun in warm weather. Across the street is the Innkeeper's Kitchen where you can see food being prepared in a large demonstration area and of course, you get to eat it afterwards. This is popular with groups wanting a different sort of annual banquet or celebrating a special occasion. It's all good and worth trying at least once.

I have been dining at the Dilworthtown Inn for years and years. The food is exceptional and the waitstaff is superb. I especially enjoy eating al fresco in the restored stables. The restaurant is a beautifully restored 18 century inn. I would highly recommend treating yourself to a memorable meal here.

We went for my birthday and were largely disappointed. While the ambience at the Dilworthtown Inn is very nice and service was generally very good, albeit slow, the food just doesn't live up to expectations for the price. I had to send back my $40 steak which was way, way over done. A high end restaurant would offer to re-do your wife's meal as well (so you can eat together), but not here. After 15 minutes (by then, my wife was done) it arrived. Still over cooked, but not nearly as much. Steaks aren't seasoned, so they are pretty bland. She had the crab cake, which was just OK. We've had much better steaks at Sullivan's or Harry's Savoy (which are both cheaper.) The Caesar Salad (made at your table) was good, at least. Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: Food, Price

The food is excellent, from the crab cake or ginger lobster appetizers to the chilean sea bass and venison entree's....tasty desserts, friendly wait staff...and don't forget to stop by the fireplace bar for a cocktail before or after dinner. a wonderful place to dine, especially around the holidays.
