We eat often at the Bull and Claw. I really like their salad and soup bar, the soups are homemade. Trust me, I know factory soups and the real thing. The seafood is fresh, having worked with both I know the difference. I reccomend the baked stuffed shrimp with coconut-pineapple rum sauce. My husband loves their fried combo platter. The place is very clean including the bathrooms, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I like the open kitchen because I can see how clean it is and I can watch the cooks prepare my food. Take it from a graduate of the Culinary Institue of America, this is the place to eat in Wells.

We went in one time when the Maine Diner, across the street was too crowded for us to wait. Next time.....we'll wait for the Maine Diner. The Bull and Claw, was terrible to say the least. The menu choices are ok. They have steaks and seafood dishes,,,,,hence their name. I made the mistake of ordering a clam roll.......that turned out to be frozen clam strips......yuck. Their salad bar that came with the meals was terrible....half the trays were empty, and needed to be refilled. But my worst complaint is that the restaurant overall was not very clean.....floors needed to be swept and vacuumed.....Their staff just did not take care of the place. Pass by this one!
