we took our dog in for a minor shoulder injury x rays proved that , they gave her methocarbonol and carprofen . We took her back 5 to 7 days later because she was still crying all nite, she was not seen and we were given more of the same meds and they have no record of that return visit ( imagine that ) we took her back for a third visit she still was not seen and at this time was given omeprezol and tramadol this is when we found out that the anti-inlamtory meds was destroying her stomach. we took her back again this time DR.Shmunk admitted her she was in the hospital for 4 days we picked her up and a few days later took her to a different vet he looked her over and said there was nothing that could be done. I spoke with Dr. Shmunk after several days of cooling down and he did call me back after he talked to the pharmacutical company and said they asked him alot of questions he could't answer , my reply was maybe i can , the first and only question was was there blood in her stool my answer was yes 3 times . that tells me that the whole time she was in the hospital she had not had a bowl movement and he released her. ( neglagence ) .. Just remember i took my dog in for a shoulder injury and she is dead from it . They like to tell people that the bad reviews are from people that owe them money i know we heard that 1 ourselves, guess what they owe us for over paying them , yes we have a credit .( smh ) We wo'nt be using it. more

I've been going to this vet for years! The place is busy and the staff are always doing their best to help each client in the best way possible. I've seen many client get very abrupt with the receptionist because they don't get their way but their doing the best they can to make each client happy. Two thumbs up and 5 stars because I think the vet is awesome! more

The staff at North Davidson Vet Hospital went above and beyond for my dog, and myself. When we cut my dogs tail off doing yardwork, we rushed to the nearest place we could find.They got my dog RIGHT back there and attended to her immediately, even reassuring us all the while. They even helped get us financial assistance for her surgery, and gave us the LOWEST price out there. The overall experience and personal attention was an experience I will be thankful for forever! Thanks to them my best friend is going to be ok. I will NEVER go anywhere else... , my best friend is going to be ok. more

I just had to make an emergency trip to the North Davidson Veterinary Hospital after hours for my little Pekingnese, Roxi. I have never been so glad to see Dr. Schmunk's face!!! He & his expert staff gave my best friend the most excellent care! I will never be able to thank them enough for being there when we needed them most!!!! I only wish I could give them more than 5 stars----how about a 10 star rating? I will never take my animals anywhere else! The compassion shown not only to my dog, but to my son & me, was so appreciated! Those people get it---our furry friends are not just a dog or a cat or whatever----they are our family members. Dr. Schmunk is great and caring, but he lets office manager and out-front staff handle most of help now and they reflect non-caring attitude more

Sounds like sour grapes...if people don't get what they want the will only tell the bad. This place is wonderful and soooo is the staff (all of them) and they REALLY care about your pets. more

My dogs have been going to ND Vet for over 5 years. I really love the Vet Dr. Schmunk and his staff have always been great. They are very knowledgable and are very compassionate and caring. There prices are reasonable vs. other pet places, and with the economy being bad, everyone is trying to save what they can. ND Vet don't overcharge you and Don't run tests on animals just to make money. I will always continue to use ND Vet over anyone else. Good Job Dr. Schmunk and Staff, I thank you all for everything yall do. more

Good: Dr Schmunk is a great caring vet. Bad: the staff, unless you are best friends with someone who works there, you will not get seen.. EMERGENCY WISE..... Improvements: TEACH YOUR STAFF TO KNOW AN EMERGENCY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE CALLED AHEAD OF TIME.. Other: Dr. Schmunk is a great vet, hands down.. BUT IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, DO NOT GO HERE!!!! THE PEOPLE HE HAS WORKING FOR HIM WILL NOT, I REPEAT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE EMERGENCY. My Rotty was snake bitten and was lathargic and we were told we would just have to wait our turn. We even called before going.. They knew we were coming. We left and went to High Point Vet, Dr. Sink... They took her right back. She would have died if we had waited for the staff to get the Doctor out there for us!!!. more

love dr. shmunk, resonably priced and well worth the long wait... held my hand when we had to put our long time pet and companion, Casey our boxer, to sleep because of cancer. Can't imagine going anywhere else. more

I have been going here with my dogs for 14 yrs. I remember when Dr. Schmunk opened the clinic... I wouldn't take my pets any where else... he has never charged outrageous prices and has always given my pets the best care possible... more

great care. they will tell you the "money saving" way to take good care of your pets........I took 2 LG. dogs "one with an allergy problem" toget shots meds and all less than 100$'s..... more

I love North Davidson Veterinary Hospital. The prices are much more competetive than other vets I've been to. They also really seem to care about the well being of your pet and not just making a buck. I've had others where if you didn't have all the money to help your animal then that was too bad, no service. But not here, they will work with you to make sure your animal is okay. more
