Talk of the Town proudly displays a voted best diner sign on the door as you walk in but the accolades may be a bit dated. Make no mistake -- this is a good diner but there are better out there. Some aspects of the diner border on the cliche, with the golden oldies music and the pictures of Elvis. Their extensive pictoral history of Watertown does make for an interesting gazing during lunch. Talk of the Town does a respectable job with diner staples such as scrambled eggs, pancakes, and waffles. Their sandwiches, however, seem not to rank much above those you could get pre-made at places like Starbucks. Chips are from a bag, and few things that you would expect this place to have made on its own actually are. A major plus though is the super-fast service and the friendliness of the staff. Patrons are willing to chat with strangers and everyone seems welcome.

Sure, this place has excellent service, friendly/attentive waitstaff and delicious food BUT it is about 100 degrees in this place in the summer. Horrible AC! AND a really bad waiting policy where patrons stand in the doorway/restaurant and practically on top of you as you are trying to eat. The restaurant owners should NOT allow this as it makes for an uncomfortable eating experience. We shoveled down our food to get away from the annoying patrons standing right next to us AND because we were sweating so bad. Will not return unfortunately even if the food is very good.
