My husband took me out to dinner for my birthday on 10/19. I checked through the internet for this restaurant. I made a great choice. We ordered Sashimi, which my husband said was the best grade of fish he has ever tasted, it was so fresh. The Beef Negima and Vegetable/Shrimp Tempura were superb. The Tempura was cooked at the correct temperature so that after taking it home, it was not soggy with oil. The presentation and service were impeccable. The waiter was personable, cordial and was not condescending when questions were asked. This is a great pick, and which you won't be disappointed in. The menu has something for everyone, and is printed so that you can understand exactly what ingredients are used, which is great for any first timers.
Pros: Food and Service is the best
Cons: None that we noted

Everytime I go to Boston I visit La Casa de Pedro. The food is amazing, the servers are friendly, and the atmosphere is great. I reccomend that you go hungry because the portions are huge! I have been there for lunch and dinner - both equally impressive.
Pros: For first timers - the menu is very detailed
Cons: parking is sometimes difficult

I like this place a lot. Good hearty basic bar and grille type food prepared fast and served friendly. Great place to watch the game, full bar and lots of big screen TVs. I also like to hang out there and do my laundry at the laundromat right next door, a lot better atmosphere in between loads!

I have yet to have a bad experience in dining here. I've been able to bring the wife for a a quick date or my young daughter for some time with dad and have always been treated well and left satisfied.
When seated you get fresh popcorn and drinks are quickly placed and received.
Love the boneless buffalo wings, onion rings, and nachos as classic apps, and like the new 7 for 7 menu which help to try different things. Prices are very reasonable and quality is great.
Pros: Food choices, quaility, price, good beer selection
Cons: Parking can be tough, and wish more seating available.

Stellina is located in Watertown Square, next to CVS. There is a huge but busy parking lot behind.
Stellina is one of the most consistent restaurants in Boston. The food is imaginative Italian, with a menu that reflects different regions and different seasons. They use many local suppliers.
The atmosphere is sophisticated, much more so than the usual restaurant in Boston. It could be New York. The wait staff is well trained.
Most dishes change with the seasons, but one perennial is the warm tomato and goat cheese salad - a large plate of warmed tomatoes with a round of goat cheese on toast points. It is too good.
Their pastas are always good. The Sangria is excellent.

Went last weekend and - despite the deafening roar (read: pretty loud) we had some of the best appetizers and main courses we've had since we went to Tuscany a few years ago. The hostess was charming and the waitress helped recommend a wine to go with our main course. Overall an unbelievable value - we would have paid a lot more downtown for what we got in the suburbs, and it wouldn't have been nearly as good. Oh - and the desserts! Who makes them? Addictive! We'll be going back.
Pros: Food, service, atmosphere, value.
Cons: Parking can be a zoo, and the place can get VERY noisy (still manages to be romantic)

This is my favorite breakfast place. The blue corn pancakes were my favorite before I tried the potato pancakes!! They are to die for. I just went there for lunch and got the falafel sandwich which was very good. A little soft for my taste but still better than anything else in the area. The owners and waitstaff or friendly and fast. The only down fall is that there is a wait on weekends for breakfast....but they will take your cell phone number so you can go wait in the car and they will call you when your table it ready!

The service here is always terrific and attentive. The restaurant can get very crowded at night with long waits, and the parking lot can be a pain, but it's always a good experience (you can wait at the bar and order from their fun drink menu). One of the highlights of a trip to Joe's is the parmesan cheese with olive oil and pepper that goes along with their yummy bread (it's very hard not to fill up on the bread). Their iced tea is always fresh and delicious. The Devil's Tower dessert (chocolate cake with hot fudge and caramel and ice cream) really is decadent. The pizzas are always good, and they have great specials. The steak tips are very good, and if you supersize them you'll have a great lunch or even dinner the next day. Salads are good, too.

If you need specialty produce (like ethnic produce such as Chinese vegetables and exotic fruits), this is the place to go. The parking lot is extremely frustrating, but the goods make up for it. They have fresh made pastas, really yummy and reasonably priced pastries, a small but good quality prepared foods section, and the best produce department I know of in the state. During the appropriate seasons, they also have a reasonably priced and fairly well stocked plant and flower nursery. They carry some dairy items (cheeses in particular) that are hard to find elsewhere, but the prices on these are a bit high. They have the best price on fresh figs in the area (half the price of Whole Foods) during their short season in August. They don't have a huge selection of dry foods, but they do have pastas and other goodies.
