While my end product from this company arrived ok and on-time, the customer service process along the way was a tad rocky. From not being able to reach anyone on the telephone to the unprofessional appearance of their company website, I had several issues that left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. However, in the end, the product was delivered on-time and as promised.

We worked with Hugh for about six months in the DC market..... he is not shy at all about dropping names of congressmen he has worked with, but did not seem to be interested in meeting our needs as first-time homebuyers. He consistently showed us houses above the price range we set (instead, showing us houses the mortagage company said we could afford), and spent more time trying to convince us to "buy bigger" than really help us find what we wanted. After a a few months (but still w/in the buyer-broker contract), he passed us off to his assistant, Paul, who, while well-meaning, was not at all experienced at the time -- and experience is exactly what you need in this tight, fast-paced market.
While working with Hugh's office, we found we still had to reasearch classified ad listings and go to open houses on our own -- and SAW how many great houses in our range were really out there that we weren't being informed about!
We changed agents, and found our dream house -- (and yes, it was in our price range) -- in TWO WEEKS!

We took my daughter here to determine if she was a candidate for a cochlear implant. She is deaf. They told us she could hear too well and determined she was not a candidate. We were shocked. They did a CT scan to find out why she had hearing loss and totally missed what was later found when a Dr. at Johns Hopkins read the films. He was able to tell us why was deaf. I was shocked that such a highly ranked children's hospital missed it. I don't necessarily know if it was just a fluke or what, but she does not attend the clinic there anymore. We are very happy where we are at and will not be returning the CNMC.

This place is nuts. We saw a horror flick here recently and I can say I saw and heard more of the audience than I did the movie. First, you're in a cave underneath Union Station in the food court. Then the light go down and the hooping and hollering starts. It could be fun to go here for a certain kind of movie where plot is not important, or if you've seen it already. Otherwise I would avoid it.

It's undeniable that the BBQ at Capital Q is top notch, but after reading about it as one of the inexpensive spots to get ribs or brisket, one of my texan friends and I were shocked when we walked in and saw the prices.
Maybe they've realized what a good thing they've got going and jacked up the rates. My pulled pork sandwich was worth the $6.50, but I wouldn't have shelled out the cash for the cow.
Also, neither of us were impressed with our sides (mashed potatoes and cole slaw) which seemed mediocre at best. Why is it that we Washingtonians just can't seem to get BBQ right even when it's done by someone exported from Texas?

Gold's Gym at the Van Ness Metro is most certainly NOT any of the brand new Washington Sports Clubs that are springing up all over the city. But you also won't pay the same outrageous membership fees.
The equipment is standard - treadmills, ellipticals, free and controlled weights. There are classes, although the under 30 crowd should be warned that most of the yoga and body pump classes have been appropriated by the over 55-ers who seem at times to take over the gym.
That said, the trainers and other employees are friendly and make it a great place to work out, especially if you live in the Van Ness neighborhood, but if it means commuting to this gym, you might want to look into other options.
