Tired of getting just 98% Mexico? This is the shop for you. They have cool housewares, unique gifts (big and small), furniture, art, etc. Their staff is friendly and helpful. They may be a bit overpriced, but it is a lot more convenient than going on a south-of-the-border buying spree, and they have stuff from all over Mexico, so you get a sense of the variety of the country's knickknacks and gewgaws.

Call and ask for Mark. He will hold your hand (figuratively at least) and walk you through what needs to be done. If it doesn't need to be done, he'll tell you that. If you can't pass DC inspection and need some help, this is the shop to call. They are quick & super competent. They are not open on weekends so try to plan accordingly. And if you do have an emergency on the road (like the time my flame retardant hood liner CAUGHT FIRE) Mark will take your phone call and help you figure out what to do. The quote "Half Mechanic / Half Chaplain" is from one of the many friends I have referred to 10th Street over the years. They have all been happy and you will too.

If you're sick of getting the routine buzz cut from Supercuts and don't mind paying a little bit more for a trim, I'd recommend 1419 Style on Wisconsin Avenue in upper Georgetown. They barbers there are friendly enough and they do a good job. I usually go to a Moroccan guy named Reda. And they don't make you shoot the breeze while they're cutting hair, which is a plus to me...

I've been to 15 ria a couple of times for drinks - nowhere does it look like you could sit down and have a meal. If anything, they might serve bar food. It's a pretty lame bar though, often pretty empty. The service is so-so; same with the prices. There are a lot of better bars in the area.

15 ria is another one of those surprisingly good hotel restaurants. Look for a menu that focuses on hearty American foods, prepared stylishly, using fresh ingredients. The restaurant is just off the hotel lobby, which can be a bit off-putting, but the food more than makes up for it. The wine list is a bit pricey but well thought out. Desserts are fine but don't feel you need to save room for them if you'd rather finish the rest of those ribs.

This restaurant has it all--great service, great atmosphere, and great food. My husband and I have come here several times for special occasions and are always thrilled when we leave. I would highly recommend the beef tenderloin as well as the lamb. Save room for dessert, they have great one! Also, be sure to look out, they participate in restaurant week and it is a great time to get a wonderful meal for a great price!

This place has good sandwiches - I like it for lunch. It's also good for happy hour. They have a nice bar area with a good selection of drinks. The prices are pretty reasonable for what you get.
