Olsson's in DC is comparable to larger book box stores like Barnes & Noble. The selection is not as big as these type of stores but they have a wealth of Books, CDs, and DVDs. My only problem with this Olsson's is the parking that is available in the area. I’ve sometimes had to drive around for long periods of time looking for a spot. Other than the parking situation the selection is very good with very reasonable prices.

I love Olsons and here's why. It's not Borders - big and impersonal, neither is it small in terms of selection. They carry a wide range of books and cds and they offer a cozy atmosphere with many staff picks lining the shelves to help you find a book you might not have ordinarily picked up. This is a good store to find something you are looking for or pick something up if you just want to browse. I would call this the perfect sized book store with a neighborhood atmosphere.

Olsson's Books are some of the best bookstores in the DC area. My favorite location is the Dupont Circle one. They have an awesome selection of new books and CDs. You can also buy concert tickets for local show at Olsson's. The staff is great. But the highlight of the store is the great, immense stock of books.

A DC institution. A large store with a great selection of music, especially classical. Their book selection is also impressive. Think of it as a local Borders and you'll get the idea. They have some great specials, a wonderful staff, no problem special ordering, and a pretty generous return policy, in case you get a stinker.
