The people at Super Shuttle (the blue and yellow vans) make airport traveling SO easy. They pick up at pretty much any hour of the day (or night), and they serve the metropolitan as well as the surrounding areas. It's cheaper than a cab and way more convenient than taking the Metro or the bus. Overall, very reliable and hard to go wrong. No flakiness here.

All the taxi drivers are very polite to me.Once I lost my wallet in the taxi, and the driver drived to my house and gave it to me without leaving his name, thanks very much.I really don't know what to say.
And by the way,I'm new in the city, and I'm not familiar with the place, each time they are very kind to me,show me the place I'm looking for.And never ask for more money for the service, never cheat me

I had a first rate experience with them i must say. The service by their counter staff is nice, the claims they made where all true and i had an enjoyable time with the tour group they assigned and recommended me to.
Counter staffs are very polite and sweet looking. They did not appeared to be nervous and conducted themselves very confidently and assuringly. That made me have the confidence to take up their package.
They kept asking me very specific questions to meet my needs, even down to the cery minor details, which is what i like about them. Thanks for the experience!

Akwaaba is a bed and breakfast with an African-American theme in a wonderfully renovated rowhouse along the 16th Street corridor in Northwest DC. Monique Greenwood, who owns this Akwaaba (and others in New York, Cape May, NJ, and New Orleans) with her husband, was once an editor for Essence magazine, but now runs this successful business. Lots of polished wood and high ceilings, with rooms themed after African-American authors -- Zora Neale Hurston, Octavia Butler - or for special occasions. The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, comfortable and restful. I have been here for book readings and private parties, but have toured the guest rooms on two or three occasions, and can vouch for their cleanliness, style and comfort. Akwaaba, by the way, means "welcome" in one of the languages spoken in Ghana, in West Africa.

The African Art Museum is a smaller museum located behind the Smithsonian Castle. The exhibits are very interesting and include masks, jewlery, paintings and sculputres. The gift shop has some really interesting things too such as lamps, jewlery and reprints of the paintings. The museum is very well laid out but did seem more crowded since it is a smaller building. It is definatly worth seeing and I almost always go when I am in town.

This hotel is superb! We stayed on the gold floor for a weekend, and received impeccable service. We checked in separately for the gold floor, and we felt like royalty the entire weekend.
There were personalized business cards in the room, tiny chocolate "paintings" of DC scenes on chocolate easels, and so many other amazing details. We loved playing games in the lounge, and the breakfast, afternoon tea, happy hour, and nighttime canapés. There is coffee, tea, and soda available all day also.
There is a good selection of DVDs to borrow for in the room, and some board games such as scrabble.
A wonderful, relaxing place to stay.

Good: I was on business travel and heading straight to my meeting from Dulles Airport. It was highly important that the driver was on time and had his route mapped. He did, and I arrived to my meeting with plenty of time to spare!. Bad: No complaints, I was very pleased. Improvements: No complaints, I was very pleased. Other: Being on time is always important, my driver was. The car was clean as if it had just been detailed, which is plus. Rates were reasonable. All across the board, I was very happy with the service..

Ahhh...I'm currently writing this review at the hotel. I wish I did not have to leave the Helix. I have traveled a lot and stayed in many hotels but this is one of the most unique hotels by far. The decor is very modern, bright, and upbeat. I love the fact that the king size bed is in it's own alcove and that it is hidden by lime green drapes. Other perks include: cheetah bathrobes, free Aveda products, daily newspaper, and free wireless Internet. Wholefoods is 2 block away, the White House is 6 blks, and shopping is an 8 minute walk. I am definitely going to stay here again. My only gripe is valet overnight parking is $27 a day (gasp!!!). Money Saving Tip: Regular room rates are about $300 a night but I booked on expedia.com and paid about a 1/3 of that.

The Melrose is a great place to stay if you're trying to avoid the typical chain hotel. It's also a great location... we could walk back after seeing the fireworks on the Mall on the 4th of July. Also, a very friendly staff!!
