The service in this restaurant isn't consistently great during busy hours, and you might have a wait a bit of time before your food is served. However, the food is very good, and I would highly recommend the fajitas. The classy atmosphere of this restaurant extends to roof, where patrons are able to sit during summer months and enjoy the view of DC.

Lauriol Plaza seems to a see-and-be-seen kind of place rather than a good Mexican restaurant. I'm from the Southwest where we know good Mexican food. Lauriol Plaza has eh food, and is extremely crowded on weekends. They are also one of those places that won't seat your entire party until everyone is there--which makes sense if you are a large party that is going to take over the place, but not if you are a smaller group. I don't understand the fascination with the place and why it is so busy all the time. The crowds and hassle with getting to Adams Morgan, and getting a table (2 hr wait is not uncommon) is not worth it to me for mediocre food.

This places makes pretty good Mexican food, nothing like you can get in California, but good and fresh. Their portions are large and tasty. The wait can be horrendous at times but try their margaritas while you're waiting. They are excellent. They offer every one a beeper so that can notify you when your table is ready -- it's that crowded. They also have good chips and salsa.
They have lots of outdoor seating and I recommend it when the weather is nice.

I went to this restaurant on the border of Adams-Morgan and Dupont Circle on a Tuesday night. Good thing that I got there at 630pm. By 7pm, the place was packed! The selection is huge, ranging from the standard Mexican fare (burritos, enchiladas) to more exotic Latin fare (Cuban skirt steak, Spanish paella). Service was good, fast and efficient, which is a plus. Overall, I was very impressed! Also, I was surprised that the place was filled up even on a weeknight, considering their capacity (split level seating, plus outdoor patio). My only advice is to expect a wait during the prime dining hours as they do not take reservations.
Pros: Variety, Decor, Service
Cons: No Reservations, Ventilation
