I recently spent a weekend in Washington, DC and was lucky enough to be introduced to Old Glory by a friend. Old Glory is located in the heart of Georgetown and has some very tasty BBQ! The menu had a fine selection from chicken to ribs and everything in between. What was a lot of fun was testing the different BBQ sauces. On each table there are about six different kinds to try and everyone could find one to fit their tastes. The corn bread and biscuits were great too.
Be prepared to wait when you get here, it was crowded. And my only complaint was that the air conditioning did not work well and it was a bit warm.

Old Glory is a Georgetown institution to be sure, but the reason isn't always the food. It's a cool hangout for the bar crowd in a prime location, so it deserves to stay in business just for that. The BBQ is by no means bad, but sometimes you have to be careful what you order. Many of the sides aren't worthy of too much praise. The service can be lacking at times as well. But as an overall experience, it's a fun place to take people who've never been to DC. Your table will get stamped with a hughe cast iron thingy and you'll get a tootsie pop at the end. Who could ask for more?

Old Glory is the cornerstone of student dining in Georgetown. With two floors of casual dining and an outdoor deck in the summer, this place is always packed with the university crowd. The music is lively honky tonk and the food is good old ribs, pulled pork sandwiches and steaks. The distinguishing feature is the crate of sauces at each table that range from Nashville to Memphis style and a guide that tells you how each one differs. It's a lot of fun to experiment and a good time with a group of friends.
