Beauvoir also runs a summer camp for children. My kids went here for a couple of years, and enjoyed it. Nothing about Beauvoir particularly stands out compared to other camps for young kids, but the place is nice just the same. The counselors are mostly in their 20s, and they are reliable and trained. At such a young age the kids don't really critique the camps they go to. They just enjoy them.

Bicycle Pro Shop in Georgetown is a great bike repair shop in DC. I’ve taken my wife’s bike here before and they fixed her bike very quickly, at a very reasonable price. This is one of the few bike repair shops in the area. I would highly recommend going here for bike problems

I used to love this place; I even had a birthday party there a few years ago. Now, after all the changes, I love it even more. The setup is perfect, providing plenty of lounging and mingling areas without sacrificing the pool-playing space. The service is really good, though you might end up waiting a bit at your table; it's understandable considering the amount of space the servers need to cover. The food is your typical bar food, which works perfectly for this place. Besides pool, there are outdoor areas, two bars, darts, and tons of tv with all the necessary sports packages. Great place for a group or just for a fun date!

Cairo Wine and Liquor is a very good all purpose liquor store with perhaps a bit better selection of wines than on average. I have purchased a nice red here to take to a colleagues dinner and was very pleased both with the price and the quality of my selection. The prices are very reasonable especially given the store's location, so this is a good place to stop by after work to pick up a bottle.

The ad says expert repair all makes. Well, that's everything but pre-1960 bicycles. They don't do that. Other than that, this is a nice shop. Friendly staff. And what serious bicycle rider rides an old bike? They tried to talk me into buying a new one instead of fixing the breaks on my cycle. They did know someone who they thought would have parts and could fix it. That was great! They really gave me great customer service.

More
Savvy visitors to or residents of the Washington, D.C. metro area line up Sunday mornings for the doors to open at the Corcoran Gallery of Art (500 17th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20006) for a one-place-has-all experience. We live in Reston, Va. and via the toll road ($1.25 each way), one can be downtown and nearly parked on the street (free meters on Saturday and Sunday) in 25 minutes. The best time to arrive is at the start--10:30--as a queue will have already begun just inside. (Reservations are available only for groups of 6 or more.) At its start, you're seated instantly in a cavernous, high-columned space that's light-filled and cheering--especially on gray winter days. Choose a white-cloth-covered table with smart black napkins at least in the room's center or farthest away from the hostess stand. That way you'll be in the best position to hear one of the weekly gospel groups who stand and spiritedly start singing a Capella at 11 a.m. at that more-remote end without microphones. Along another side of the room, one can immediately begin serving oneself from a lengthy array of hot and cold foods that finishes with a selection of desserts. The buffet includes the usual scrambled eggs with cheesy grits to black beans and rice accompanying thin slices of baked pork. On the opposite side, there's a short line for the made-to-order omelets, but just to its left, is a Belgian-waffle maker and strangely, no wait at all. A server will ask you whether you want champagne or a mimosa (included in the price), or other juices. (Coffee and tea are extra.) The charge on March 12, 2006 was $24.95 for adults ($11.95 for children under 12) and it included admission to the private museum's collection. (Members of the Corcoran reap additionally, a 10-percent discount.) The exhibition (March 4-June 4, 2006) is 90 works of Robert Bechtle whose art would interest anyone. His photo-like large canvases capture (now-vintage) cars and middle-class families in their environments, on the street, or parked in front of their homes from the 60s to the nearly the present.
