Logan Hardware is a gem in DC. Since there is no room for a Home Depot in a large city you need smaller hardware stores. This store basically has in stock anything I’ve ever needed. The prices are great and the staff is so friendly. I’m always able to get in and out of the store in a matter of minutes.

DC is the first metro area where I've lived where the neighborhood hardware store is a rarity. Everyone seems to prefer the mega chains like Lowe's and Home Depot. But there is an advantage to a place like Logan Hardware -- you don't have to search forever for what you need, the help actually knows what they're talking about and the prices are better. The owners must just be smart people, because the store isn't one of those family-owned businesses that have been around forever. They actually came in with the wave of gentrification that overtook this neighborhood. But they obviously know their market and its needs. And even though the store looks small from the outside, don't be fooled. It's got three levels full of everything you might need.

This is my one-stop shop for keymaking in the district because it's close and they have a solid repution. However, I don't usually go in here for more than some nails or screws because the store is too small to have the materials you need for special home projects. But to end on a high note, I will say they have saved me a trip outside the city on a number of occasions when I had to make a repair and needed some nuts and washers. They have an adequate supply of emergency plumbing supplies as well.

Whenever I need a key made I come here. I own a series of houses around the city that I rent out. Whenever I have a new tenant I need to change the locks so Im frequently in and out of this great shop. The keys cut here are always done to perfection. This is the best and the only place I frequent downtown. If you live near Logan Circle this is the place you should check out.

I might have put this review in the wrong category but if you're looking for a hardward store in downtown DC where you don't have to drive out to the burbs to go to Home Depot, the Logan Hardward store is a great spot. It's two stories (at least) and it has pretty much anything that one of the major hardward chains would carry. Plus it's right next door to Whole Foods on P Street so you can take care of multiple chores at once.

Friendly, efficient, and convenient to Logan-DuPont. They're not the biggest store, but they have most things you're likely to want, and they're happy to special order or direct you elsewhere. They have a smart selection of products and will let you know what they think. Excellent for the mechanically disinclined. Tough parking, though, unless you’re shopping at WholeFoods (and maybe you are).

Logan Hardware is a very well-stocked hardware store with every kind of nut, bolt and screw you could possibly need as well as a whole lot more. In addition to basic tools, etc, they also have some home items like BBQ grills and patio furniture. The sales staff is very helpful, even if you are only looking to spend like $1 on a few screws. This is a good store to have in the neighborhood.
