This store has very unique novelty gifts and cards you wouldn't find in your mall. You can find great gifts for a co-worker. My only complaint: Some of thier items are a little pricey but I guess they are worth it cause you won't see it anywhere else.

Lambda Rising is a great little bookstore in Dupont Circle, with a focus on the gay and lesbian community. Besides a multitude of books, they carry a good selection of other stuff, including dvds, cds, magazines and novelty gift items. The staff is very friendly, helpful and always seem to be having a good time. I'm not too familiar with this aspect, but it's my understanding that the store does a lot of community outreach, too.

After having received several gifts from there, I had to go see it for myself. They have a wonderful selection of chocolate and candy novelties and it tastes good as well. The prices are not outrageous for a chocolate shop either. Pick up something for yourself while you are there!

i love getting flowers at yorks becuase they have a huge selection and they are always top quality. the prices are steep but the quality is so good it is well worth it. i always get my flowers from them because of the quality and service. they also have a nice location.

Go Mama Go is a funky and cheerful store. As you walk in, you're immediately drawn in with the bright displays and lighting. There's so many cool and unique gifts from around the world. The owner, Noi, is affectionately called Mama by both employees and shoppers.
The gifts are all so unique and most of it will not be found elsewhere. You can get all sorts of things including dishes, artwork, handbags, notebooks, vases, stationary, chopsticks, and more. It's just a fun place to be in. The employees are so wonderful and helpful and Mama is usually there. She's a character and it's worth it to just go and visit her. Mama is involved with the community and an acitivist, supporting many nonprofits. So it's about time to go check out Mama's store!

This is an adults only store. Here you can find a wide selection of adult toys, clothing, videos, and book. The items here are fairly pricey but the selection is great. The best part of this store is that it is not in a seedy area of DC. You can feel comfortable heading here anytime of the day.

It's great for someone living in DC that's looking to spruce up their apartment, but it's also worth checking out if you're in DC on vacation and are looking for interesting things for the home.
