This small housewares store in the revamped 14th Street corridor carries a variety of housewares. The sleek/bright stock ranges from practical (stainless steel kitchen tools, dishes, barware) to the not so practical (the bright-colored silly Koziol line - check out the dental floss 'shark'). They also carry plush (and pricey) bath towels and bath products, making it a good stop for a housewarming gift.

Not sure how this store got categorized as a furniture store, it is not! It is rather the perfect little kitchen and bathroom resource. You will find a Super friendly staff and Super competitive pricing. It is a small store so don't come in expecting to find the variety of Bed Bath & Beyond. Instead expect to find good quality items at good prices. I highly recommend stopping in to see this little gem for yourself!

Amazing collection of contemporary furniture, apparently all still made in France (not China). Knowledgeable, helpful staff! The prices are not cheap but far less expensive than i expected. When i first walked in it felt more like a gallery or museum than a furniture but the people who work there were wonderfully friendly and i will certainly go back!

I know most people know this store well, but I love this location. The employees actually know their products very well, and they are extremely helpful in helping you find what you need. The prices are obviously very good because it is a national chain, so the reason I am giving it a 4 is simply because the service at this particular location is great.

This Penn Quarter store caters to the young and the hip in this newly trendy part of town. Lots of colorful couches and ultra-modern pieces.
However, you really need a lot of cash to shop here. I can't afford a thing.
PROS: Modern and Fun Furniture
CONS: Very Expensive

If you are just moving into a new apartment and it's a total blank canvas, then what better piece of furniture than a futon? I bought my futon at Ellen's about four years ago when I first moved to the district and it has held up very well. It was a lot cheaper than a sleeper sofa and has the advantage of being almost infinitely changeable, since all you need to do is change the cover to change the whole look. And Ellen's is always having a special on a whole futon package.

Go take a look at the Boconcept reputation, Ask anyone who purchased from them in the past 5 years, or talk to any of their current customers like me.
Boconcept or Bo Concept (read: "No Concept") is by far the worst company to deal with i have ever come across in my life. Crappiest products, looks great on the showroom floor, feels like cardboard when you get it home, customer service people treat you like you you owe them something, not anything like they should and the management in the new jersey corporate office would be better off running a circus or managing a pig farm.
go check out this site www.BoConceptSucks(dot)com
Or go look them up on www.ApartmentTherapy(dot)com and see for yourselves how long of a tainted history they have. It goes back YEARS!
BoConcept truly is the worst company on the face of this planet.
oh, get this, i found out that MOST OF THEIR FURNITURE and sofas are MADE IN CHINA..what a ripp-off!
Pros: cheapest products and worst customer service in the world
Cons: looks like they are going bankrupt, HURRAY!

We had a layaway and had made payments on it. Went back in 2 weeks to make another payment the business had closed, called all other locations to find out that the phones had been disconnected. No phone calls or warnings that the business was going to close or anything. Now we have to go through the pain of getting in touch with someone about getting our money back.
