While Sequoia is far from the best restaurant in DC it does have one thing many other restaurants don't-a view, of sorts. Situated alongside the Potomac, Sequoia is a great place to go in the summer. You can hang out on the patio with a drink in your hand and relax. The American food served here is okay-neither appalling or especially great. On a scale of one to ten I would give the overall quality of food a six or seven. This is a great place to go to on a date or to leave with a date. Dinner will cost around twenty dollars a person. Service is very unobtrusive and gracious.

Bill Clinton was a fan of this place. It has really good food!
I love their desserts. The Gentlement's whiskey pecan pie was the best.
It had chocolate chips in it. Yum!

Sequoia's is the ritziest of the Georgetown Waterfront establishments. As though the prices weren't indication enough, even the outdoor area is raised just above the rest of the boardwalk. The food is mouthwatering. The venue is beautiful. They even host special events like rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions. It may not be the most popular of Washington Harbour hangouts for just chilling on a nice summer day, but it is the place to be for a great dining experience.

Although I can't vouch for the food - which I hear is great - I have to say I was a little disappointed by the drinks there. The quality & ambience that Sequoia sets up made me expect a knock-my-socks off margarita, but it was fairly so so. For the price, it's obvious that you're paying for the atmosphere - which granted on a beautiful September evening, sitting on the waterfront in Georgetown is no small price, so fair enough, Sequoia. I'll go back again and try dinner, but if that doesn't impress me, I wouldn't go back just for the bar scene.

I must admit, I was more impressed with the atmosphere and location than with the food. It is gorgeous, which makes it a great date spot. It is on the water and the restaurant is ceiling to floor glass windows. The food wasn't bad at all, but not worth what you are paying for. Go get some drinks, hang out, and have fun. Have dinner elsewhere.
