When asked by Universal Floors to report on my experience with them I was only too happy to do so. Starting with the very first visit from my sales person Tim, to the day he called after the job was finished, I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and care that went in to our project. From saving us money by correcting our squeaky floor to the perfectly matched stain and finish, our floors have never looked better! Tim was patient with me and my husband in choosing the color and took the time to make sure we were happy. These folks are wonderful! I have already told several of my neighbors about Universal Floors. SW Bethesda, MD

After moving into my new house I was in the need for a new rug for my bedroom. I visited Design Center Carpets to look at their selection of carpets. This was the first time I have ever shopped for a carpet so I was glad the friendly and knowledgeable staff here was able to lend their expertise. In the end I was able to find a carpet at a very good price.

I used Hans Custom Floors when I was redoing the tile in my kitchen. My wife and I were having problems deciding upon a design until we consulted with experts at Hans. They provided us with flooring option we were not aware were available. The help they provided really helped speed up our process. The floor now looks wonderful.

Conn Ave Consignments is a furniture store. It is a nice store with tons of inventory and tons of space - more like a regular furniture store rather than a consignment store where evrything is pilled on top of each other. . Their prices are a bit high but after they have the item for 30 days the prices get lowered. They do have a website but that is nothing to look at - only good for directions.

I had a terrible experience with DC floors. First they dropped a guy off to do work and he didn't have the right instructions to install the wood flooring. Luckily, I was able to correct him before he started installing it in the wrong direction. Even then his English was so poor, he didn't understand some of the important details, and he ultimately had to come back about a week later to fix his mistakes.
Secondly, and even more infuriatingly, I reduced the size of my project after I had already paid them the deposit for the larger project. After they finished the work, Ed Jr. (the owner I believe) told me I wouldn't get any of my deposit back, even though I clearly had paid them about twice the market value of the job they did (based on the estimates other flooring companies produced for me.) Needless to say, I'll take them to small claims court if I have to get remaining balance back. I hope others heed my warning and avoid DC Floors until they ammend their current business practices.
