DC is the first metro area where I've lived where the neighborhood hardware store is a rarity. Everyone seems to prefer the mega chains like Lowe's and Home Depot. But there is an advantage to a place like Logan Hardware -- you don't have to search forever for what you need, the help actually knows what they're talking about and the prices are better. The owners must just be smart people, because the store isn't one of those family-owned businesses that have been around forever. They actually came in with the wave of gentrification that overtook this neighborhood. But they obviously know their market and its needs. And even though the store looks small from the outside, don't be fooled. It's got three levels full of everything you might need.

I’m not sure that there even is another hardware store in the neighborhood, but I’d be happy to have this one as the only one. Located on 18th Street, between M & N Streets, Candey’s is accessible to residents of Foggy Bottom, Dupont, Georgetown, and other areas. The staff is very friendly and, even though the store is on the small side, they seem to make room for a really good selection. Plus, it helps that it never seems to be too crowded.

The sleek/bright stock ranges from practical (stainless steel kitchen tools, dishes, barware) to the not so practical (the bright-colored silly Koziol line - check out the dental floss 'shark'). They also carry plush (and pricey) bath towels and bath products, making it a good stop for a housewarming gift.

Go Mama Go is a funky and cheerful store. As you walk in, you're immediately drawn in with the bright displays and lighting. There's so many cool and unique gifts from around the world. The owner, Noi, is affectionately called Mama by both employees and shoppers.
The gifts are all so unique and most of it will not be found elsewhere. You can get all sorts of things including dishes, artwork, handbags, notebooks, vases, stationary, chopsticks, and more. It's just a fun place to be in. The employees are so wonderful and helpful and Mama is usually there. She's a character and it's worth it to just go and visit her. Mama is involved with the community and an acitivist, supporting many nonprofits. So it's about time to go check out Mama's store!

i decided to get new doors on both the front and back doors on our home. i decided to go with ABC Supply Company. We had something particular in mind for both doors. i went to their business to look at pictures and order our doors. We looked at pictures just like what we wanted and went ahead and ordered the doors. They new exactly what we wanted. They came out a few days later to install the doors. It didn't take them very long. I got a great deal on the doors, better than anywhere else I checked and the doors are gorgeous.

I used Plumbline Plumbers for a minor job last year. I was having problems with the drainage system in my shower. My wife was on my case to get someone over as soon as possible and I al so thankful I called Plumbline Plumbers. They were able to come out the next day and fixed the problem for a reasonable price.

I rescently installed new cabinets, I really recommend this company, they were fast and helpful, answering all my questions without an attitude. They did some quality work and i really appreciated that, thus i gave them a $50 dollar tip, each. Im very satisfied with this work and i recommend them to anyone who need cabinet installation.

Barry Plumbing has installed a water heater, a water softener and a toilet at my house on 3 separate occasions. They do good work for a fair price. And they don't do duct work, so I don't know what that other review is all about.

Flood Squad responded within 30 minutes, extracted all the water, dried the floor and walls and billed my insurance company directly. The 2 uniformed technicians moved everything, were very careful, helpful and knowledgeable. Their quick response saved my carpet and prevented mold in the rest of the house.
