For a day of pampering yourself, head to Piaf. Be sure to schedule an appointment because walk-ins are unlikely to find some time in their packed schedule. It’s busy because it’s the best. Their specialists are professional and friendly. They know just how you like to be spoiled. Again, though, you will have to accept being turned away without an appointment. Also, it’s pretty expensive, making it good for special occasions and not for your everyday needs.

I've been a Piaf customer for almost five years now. I've stayed loyal to Sandra, the greatest stylist I've ever had. She's only there on Tuesday now, partially as a result of the business not being what it once was. Other salons in the same league have a more ritzy feel than Piaf. They should probably renovate the interior. But the quality of the sylists is easily on par with others in the city, and they still boast a number of famous clients. They were recently voted one of the top salons in a Washington Post readers' poll.
