Like many others, we are suffering from MI's bad economy right now, and my puppy needed an EMERGENCY surgery for a perforated bowel (in 2 places... they actually had to remove a foot of her intestine because she ate a sock that got stuck). The Parkview staff were WONDERFUL! So compassionate! They agreed to see us with a post dated payment. Dr. Sheldon and a few other staff members actually donated 4 hours of their time AFTER HOURS to preform the surgery And they worked out a payment plan for us for her surgical meds, antibiotics, x rays and blood work
I have been to so many other vets who only see my animals as Dollar signs when we walk through the door, I was actually even told before by other offices if I couldn't pay for the complete care plan at the time of service that I could just take my animal home and whatever happened happened.
I am SO grateful to have found a vet that still cares about the animals well being!! If it wasn't for Dr. Sheldon and the Parkview staff, I don't even want to think about what the outcome would have been for my puppy. I cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital... I would recommend it to EVERYONE! Good care is not always easy to find these days... but that's exactly what you'll get here!

I've never been to this place, never will and this is why.
Friday morning I found my cat bleeding, being attacked by flies. Of course, I freaked out. I'm relatively new here, we don't have a vet. I did a quick cleaning, couldn't tell what was wrong, stuck her in the bathtub and ran up to the petfood store for a reccommendation. Was sent to Parkview.
Called and was told they were very busy today. I said she was injured and asked for a referral to another vet. The girl said I could come in at 5:30, five hours later.
So, maybe I wasn't thinking clearly, but the cat didn't seem to be in pain, was walking around. Figured a few hours I could clean her up, get my head together.
A couple of hours later, I called to see if there had been a cancellation or some other way I could come in early. It was a different receptionist and, no.
About 4:30 I go for a third clean-up, put her in the carrier, but too late. I called to cancel. I think, a third phone girl. Did I still want to bring her in? The cat's dead, what are you going to do? Oh, we do cremations
They did nothing to help keep her alive, then tried to sell me a cremation?!
Yes, I am distraught, but that doesn't make me stupid enough for you to take advantage of me
No and no and no and no!

I found this place when Scarlet, our pitbull/boxer, got stung by a bee. Her whole face swelled up, so I needed to taker her somewhere immediately. I had my mom look online to find the closest vet, and started driving. I got there, and she was seen immediately as they could tell it was an emergency. She was given a shot and some antihistamine and I was told to watch to make sure she was breathing ok. The prices were reasonable.
Then, on Halloween, Scarlet got hit by a car and we rushed to Parkview. They were still open at around 6 at night and saw her immediately once again. Ran some tests, bandaged her up and sent us on way. She needed to go back for surgery, etc... and follow ups, and I think that it was a little ridiculous to charge us for every time they changed her bandages. We were going every day or every other day for 2 weeks straight. It cost us $1000 to have some stitches and some bandages...
The staff is always friendly and answers your questions.
For some reason, we took her in again without an appointment for her routine shots, but when we walked in, no one at the desk even acknowledged us. We stood there for over 10 minutes and no one even said hello! So we left. We are reluctant to make an appointment with them because of this, but it is really close to our home and they know Scarlet. I've read some horrible reviews about her normal vet on here (Long Lake Animal Hospital), so maybe I'll give this place another chance.

Today my Scooby was attacked by another dog in the lobby of the hospital. I was told to put my scooby on the scale to get his weight when another dog in the lobby bit him in the mouth. I was given an antibiotic but was not offered a recheck to see if it is healing properly or at all. So no I did not feel there was enough room in the lobby. I was then charged for an ear smear i did not approve. I left today not feeling the love for my pet,but instead just another $ sign through the door. I will never return

I don't normally post messages, but after reading the others on site, I was left wondering if they had been to the same place. I found Parkview when my dog was near the end of his days and I needed to ease his way home. After calling other vet for prices, we found Parkview to be the most reasonable. My husband stayed with my dog as he passed, while the staff was very supportive. They even made a plaster of his paw for our memories. When my lab began to limp just days later, we retuned. When the xray showed the pup was full of cancer, they were just as shocked. They didn't try to upsell me, but told me that I could try to save him, but it would be expensive and have no guarantee. Dr. Sheldon told us we should let him go. With our dog Chase, I have found them to be thorough in the exams, professional in their service and kind and gentle to him. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. While they have informed me of services available, I have never felt pressured to purchase something I did not want. When I have been undecided on a service, they have told me to wait and consider it for a later date. I would highly recommend this service for the four legged members of your family

Love the staff, love the facility, love the care they give my Ruby. Ruby is my dog, and she is like a child to me, so obviously I want nothing but the best for her. After hearing horror stories about VCA animal hospital, and the humane society vets, I decided to check this place out at the reccomendation of 3 friends. They are inexpensive, and understanding. Ruby had an ear infection, and the stuff Dr. Fear gave us made it go away in 2 days (it was a terrible one too). I am very grateful to them for keeping my dog healthy. Not to mention, they are quite reasonabley priced as well, but that is secondary.

The facility is very nice, but that is about all that I can say positive. Prepare to be oversold about unnecessary pet meds and accessories. They will use scare tactics to get you to buy items you do not need, you will be overcharged and oversold ie: they will require expensive bloodwork for routine checkups. Also, the last 3 times I have been there, I have waited in the waiting room for well over an hour, despite my advance appoinment. Two of those times, they actually forgot about me. They overbook big time and operate like a pet factory. Avoid this place. They are just out to make $$ and pet care is secondary.

The vet tech seemed nervous/skittish to handle or greet my pets in the room before seeing the doctor.
I was not happy with my overall experience, from the staff or the prices.
This is a large building and staff and I didn't feel at home at all. I will not be going back.

After going to the closest Vet to our house for a few years (Madison Veterinary Hospital on 12 Mile) and finding their prices to be extremely high, despite the quality service, we decided to try Parkview, based on a friend's recommendation. We have found that the Vet is excellent, straight forward, and practical and the staff is friendly and accomodating. My only complaint is the wait time is generally 20-40 minutes, which can be a problem, if your dog our cat doesn't do to well around other animals, like ours. However, still worth it - reasonable prices and great veterinary advice and treatment!
