Oh where to start! I have been going to Franco's for the past twenty years. Have tried others, but always end back at Franco's. This family owned restaurant and pub have the greatest employees - friendly, quick, helpful, fun. A great place to hang with your friends in the pub, or bring the whole family to the restaurant side.
The pizza has been voted best in Waltham for the past five years. They have a great assortment of toppings. They even won the best calzones in Waltham as well. Each one is made to order. Nothing can beat their homemade chicken parm. Always made fresh and hot.
When my friends go out, we always end up at Franco's. Their pub dine-in only specials are worth the trip. The have great live bands each week. We also have a great time at the Karaoke nights. The night bartenders are so much fun. Always down to business, but at the same time, they actually converse with their customers. They are a great team and fun to watch. The day bartenders are very nice as well.
One thing that my friends and I probably like the best is the owners. They are always so nice. Not many places have one or more of the owners there all day and all night. The older female is known as Mama. She has been known to go out of her way to make a special something for a customer for a birthday or special event. The older male stays more to the kitchen. Doesn't converse very much. The younger guy though is the best. I think he is there from when they open to when they close every day. He is always talking to the customers. Going back and forth between the restaurant side and bar side. He even does the karaoke once each week. That is the best night to go! How many owners do you know that sing right along with their customers. His kids are great. Then there is his wife. Not sure if she is part owner, but a really nice person. Seems to be there all the time talking to the customers. She does their fundraising nights. Not an event to miss.
Pros: Everything - food, staff, fun!
Cons: Friday nights you may have to a few extra minutes for pizza or calzones since they are so busy.

The staff has always been friendly to us. We get pickup so I can't really comment on eating there. My wife is a transplanted NYer and she missed NY style pizza. Its not exactly NY pizza but closest we have found near Boston, with the possible exception of Pizza Regina.
Pros: Inexpensive, don't have to worry about Moody street traffic if you are coming from the South
Cons: None yet

I called to place an order for takeout and the women/owner was SO rude. She sounded rushed and harried and it was only 11:30am. Wow! I can't believe people can run a business like this. The old owners were nice, friendly etc. Looks like I won't be trying their food now...that's okay...there are PLENTY of other great pizza place in Waltham. Too bad for Franco's...
Pros: Zilch
Cons: Rude service
