This restaurant was always big with the Brandeis University student crowd when I was there a few years ago, considering it?s relatively close to campus. Waits got long on weekend nights though, so I?d definitely recommend reservations. The dining room also had a tendency to get noisy. But the food was as good as any other Bertucci?s outlet and mayb a step above other Italian chains, like Olive Garden. Pizzas at this Bertucci?s came out of a wood oven, and I could sit there all night just eating those warm dinner rolls and be satisfied. This place definitely wasn?t a bad choice for dinner with the family or a large group of friends when I was in Waltham.
Pros: food, parking
Cons: noisy dining room, long waits

The food off the regular Chinese menu (standard fair) is above average. The decor is pretty much non-existent and the place has no atmosphere whatsover, but unless you're on a date or something I don't think it matters much. The people who work here are quite friendly and accomodating. The reason to come here is for the Dim Sum, served on weekends until 3 p.m. We arrived one Sunday right at 3:00, but they served us Dim Sum anyway. The food is good, not greasy, and I've been told by Chinese people is quite authentic. The delight of 3 (which is really just 2 different things, so I'm not sure what the 3rd is) was truly delightful (well, one delight was a nutty bean paste filling that was okay, but the other was a nutty honey sesame filling that was delicious -- they are glutinous white balls with a filling. YUM). They're far enough down Main Street that parking doesn't seem to be too much of an issue.

Best pasta(true italian) Lobester fra Diavola to die for.
The bread is better then the one we had in Italy, authentic antipastai like sopressata homemade and capicollo wich You can't find in stores. Well worth the visit. Also to mention rare wine that we never tasted before abosolutely unique and delicious.
Pros: food quality real Italian food family owned
Cons: hidden location

The Skellig is a fun place to hit up on a Friday night to dance in the backroom to local cover bands. It can get a bit crowded some nights and I'd recommend getting in early to avoid the cover. If dancing and cover bands aren't your thing, you can hang out at the front bar. There is usually live session music happening but it's not too loud to have a conversation, which is always a plus!

Don't listen to the girly-men, hurlbutt and spookini, who are afraid of eating anything with meat. These women probably eat salads all day. For real men, Carl's is definitely the place to go. If you want awesome, hearty, rib-sticking subs, then go to Carl's. If not, you can hang out with hurlbutt and spookini at the Rainforest Cafe.
Pros: Value and taste
Cons: None

Grassfield's has been in Waltham for as long as I can remember; I've been there recently for drinks and dinner and would recommend them for very good food and reasonable pricing. It's the kind of place to bring your parents - yummy, but nothing terribly adventurous. Be sure to try the steak tips, they are cooked perfectly. Service is very friendly and accommodating but can be a little slow sometimes.

After having driven past it for years I finally stopped in when a craving for a chicken parm sub took control. And am I glad I did. Their menu includes pizza, hot and cold subs, salads and more. Everything I have tried is great. The guys who work there are friendly. And if they have any baklava left when you get there pick up a piece...trust me on this!

In the food war between Moody Street neighbors Asian Grill and Tom Can Cook, I think Tom Can Cook wins on most fronts hands down. Tom?s has a nicer dining room. The modern art and cool color lights give the place a trendy feel. I like their pad Thai and Asian fusion dishes better as well. A few things in Asian Grill?s favor: their dining room is slightly bigger and they do have a sushi bar.
