In July 2008, my husband had to make a last minute trip to Virginia Beach for business, so me and my 3 year old daughter decided to tag along.
My husband and I have stayed at a Super 8 Motel before, so we did not think twice when we booked our stay online. Big mistake!!
We arrived earlier than the check in time and I went to see if we could check in a bit early. I was told by the lady at the front desk that no we would not be able to check in at that time and she was not even sure we could check in at the 4 pm. check in time. Needless to say we were not happy.
When we finally were able to check into our room, it was disgusting! There were holes in the walls, the carpet was filthy, the room smelled bad and there was hair in the bathtub. After futher inspection, we realized that the drapes had holes in the backs of them that the staff attempted to cover with pieces of electrical tape!! Certainly was a beautiful sight from outside when the drapes were closed.
We attempted to open the sliding door to air out the room, but when my husband opened the door, it almost fell off the track. He and I both attempted to close it which took forever.
Every inch of this hotel was gross and I would not recommend it to anyone. We attempted to find another place to stay but everything was booked. When we realized we could not stay elsewhere, we just decided to stay on the beach or shop as much as possible just to avoid being in the room.
