These folks are just great. The way they treat the animals is fantastic. They truely appreciate financial donations and you can be assured the money goes for the care of the animals. I have donated to them for years and they have no idea who I am, but everytime I stop by to just check on them and how they are taking care of the animals, I am always impressed. Stop by anytime and check them out. They are always very friendly and love to show off all the pets.
Pros: Get people, very gentle and caring of the animals.
Cons: They just don't have enough money to keep going and really need donations.

Charlie O's is the finest Jazz joint in Los Angeles, bar none. There are nicer clubs and some great ?listening spaces,? but if you want to go to a friendly local bar that plays straight-up swing, big-band, bop, and cool jazz, then look no further, you are home. Charlie O?s is the place to go if you are really into the music--night in, night out, you will not hear better.
As for the food, it helps to pick the right items. I have always had very good luck with the baseball sirloin and the center cut pork chops?both were excellent. I would recommend steering clear of the fried stuff and sticking to what?s on the grill, it costs a bit more, but I think it is a real step above some of the lower-end items.
Same goes for the drinks, if you want a top-shelf martini, you?re going to pay for it, but the Miller Lite is still reasonable off the tap if you lack the means. The wine list could use some work, in my opinion, but the liquor selection is top-notch.
Now about the prices, keep in mind that the band has to get paid. Nothing?s free, ladies and gentlemen, and if you want to hear top-notch music, you can either pay at the door or you can pay at the bar and through the kitchen, but either way, the band must be properly remunerated (and they should get paid, and paid well, those aren?t teenage rock ?n roll bands up there, folks, but some of the finest musicians in the country, show some respect for their decades of hard work and buy another round for everyone at the table). I know, I know, I?m a working class guy myself, and I?ve had some tabs at Charlie?s that have put the bite on my paycheck, but I can?t say I?ve ever had a bad time, or that the money wasn?t well spent.
Go to hear the music, the house rhythm section of Roy McCurdy and John Heard (get well, John) is alone worth the cost of a few drinks. On a good night, you?ll find out why Jazz is far from dead. See you there.
Pros: Great straight-up Bop, Swing, Big-Band, and Cool Jazz, REAL Jazz, no phony hipsters
Cons: Lighting is so-so, I hate lookinbg at acoustic ceiling, some food is blah, wine list is dull

I have never posted something like this before because most stores don't inspire the loyalty that they do. I merely forgot their address and was looking it up and when I read the post had to write something. I'm not sure what kalee2004 is talking about I’ve been going to the store for years. They do specialize in "one-of-a-kinds, close-outs, hotel liquidations" so to have the expectation that they will be like crate and barrel and keep everything in stock is silly. If they did 1st it wouldn't be an outlet 2nd they would have deals.
I have found the staff at hotel surplus to be welcoming and always looking to make a deal. I really enjoy shopping with them and have walked away with great furniture and art. They are a lovely family owned store and have an ever changing inventory that is part of the fun. You never know what you will find. If you are looking fore quality furniture at good prices then you will enjoy their store
Pros: highend furniture for cheap constantly getting new things

I go here at least once a week, usually more. Its right near my office and a great fast and healthy lunch spot (almost the entire menu is approved by the American Heart Association).
I usually get the Chicken Tikka Plate (rice, chicken, salad) or the Tikka sub (chicken sub sandwich). If you're on a diet stay away from the chips they give you; although healthier than other chips they're still fried which can end a diet pretty quick. My favorite condiment is the diced green chilies, if you can take the heat they really spice it up.
The owner is friendly and always greets me by name. The chicken is zesty and flavorful without being too spicy for those that don't like spicy food. I love spicy so I pile high with the green chilies and red salsa.
My favorite guilt pleasure is the Tikka Taco. Its a chicken taco wrapped in fluffy flatbread. Sooo good but the thick bread might not sit well with an Atkins follower. I can't speak for the whole menu as I've never tried any of the seafood but the chicken and beef are great.
Tables are always clean, food is always fresh, price is always right :)
Pros: fresh food, tastes great, great price
Cons: dining area isn't anything special but the food makes up for it

I moved within the city and they were their on time. Everything was taken care of and I checked to see if anything was broken when I unpacked. Not a scratch!
I checked their website and it said they were family owned, which is important to me. I like to support local family business, so I called. The whole family was there they were all very nice!
I highly recommend this company.
Pros: Affortable and friendly!

This first half of the review is in regard to Helen B.
why post a bad review against a different dealership on galpin mazda's website. POST YOUR BAD REVIEW AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. How does your bad review on no name ford dealership apply to galpin MAZDA.
Anyways- I have dealt with Galpin before. Their parts department is a little jerry but everything else about them has been very good.

Faustino's restaurant in Van Nuys is really good Italian food. Family owned and operated it is one of our favorites. The rolls are homemade and fabulous. They pride themselves on their fresh made pastas. I have enjoyed the lasagna several times. Prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent.

I did some research online on the 09 G Convertible and was sent here by Edmunds because they had everything I wanted in stock. My research totally paid off and totally saved me a lot of time because it sucks when you have to go to dealership to dealership to find the exact vehicle you want. Edmunds made it super convenient for me. Anyways, since I had a reasonable amount of info on the car I wanted, the price I could afford, and the options available, I was ready to tackle the car dealership. I went there with an aggressive mentality because you never know what to expect at a car dealership. However, my defense mentality wasn’t needed at all. One of the sales managers greeted me upon my arrival and was really friendly. I thought that there had to be some kind of gimmick but there wasn’t any. He was just genuinely nice! During the whole process, there was a no pressure atmosphere and he even helped me get good financing. It was effortless and I was out of the dealership within an hour with my brand new 09 G Convertible! So take Edmunds advice and head over to Miller Infiniti. They really know their stuff and how to treat a customer.

New month, new problem.
with my basement ceiling leaking from the bathroom above.
I had my basement in law flooded from the water heater that was faultily connected by the previous
plumber, to roots from the tree in front of my house, which is apparently owned by the city - suffice
it to say my run of plumbing bad luck had hit a trifecta, and it's just October yet.
I got bids and talked to two other plumbers before I turned to the internet to double-check on the
reputation of these companies I was considering.
In the process, I discovered Plumbco and their good reviews,
so with a reputation as good as theirs, they must be doing something right.
It seemed unreal how they can please so many people.
I had to try them for myself since I know that with my share of the insurance deductible,
I had better be getting a job with solid results.
My insurance company just won't stand for repeat visits anyhow.
Arie from Plumbco showed up to my house with shoe booties,
which I thought was a professional touch.
He was courteous, and immediately got to diagnosing the fact that my son and I have a tendency to
splash around the tub and water was escaping, causing the leak.
Thank God it was nothing major! He also noticed that our water heater still isn't strapped correctly,
and this time, I'm no longer taking chances so I had him deal with that too.
I am pleased with his expertise and am glad I did my research this time around.
I am okay with the price I paid, albeit a little higher than the two other "econo" plumbers.
Arie at least was able to solve the problem.
I recommend Plumbco in a heartbeat!!!
