But with great food like this, that wont' hurt the wallet -- well worth it! I loved that they added kebabs to the menu now...can't wait to try that!

I've only ordered for delivery so I have no idea what the restaurant even looks like. They've always been friendly on the phone and have delivered within a reasonable amount of time. I love ordering Zankou for lunch in the office. The portions are just right to fill you up and is a good deal.

I love Zankou! They have great chicken and falafel plates. The hummus is also great. It's healthy and light too. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's not fancy but they just have great food.

If you're in the mood for seriously cheap eats that include some of the best rotisserie chicken and hummus in LA then head over to Zankou. I have no idea what they do to their chickens but they're always tender, juicy and wonderful. Let's not get into my feelings about the garlic sauce that they serve on the side (always ask for more) - because it borders on true love. The only thing that's lacking IMO is a better selection of sides; but it doesn't stop us from eating here a few times a month, even my super picky 8 year old loves the place (and the garlic sauce). I think the urge to lick your fingers while eating this stuff is almost overwhelming.
Some people have complained about the semi-rude service they get @ Zankou, but I think it's just part of the experience - they're always packed - and they're always trying to get people out the door.
Probably not good for date night; but is great take out on the way because if the super fast in and out of the place.
Pros: Fast Service, Awesome Food, Parking, Garlic Sauce to Die For
Cons: Cash only

My first trip to Zankou wasn't a success -- the hummus tasted like mashed potatoes and the chicken was a bit dry. But the second time I went, the food was excellent. Juicy chicken that drips off the bone, beef shawerma that is lean and incredibly tasty, wonderful garlic sauce and even the hummus was good. This has definitely made the top of my lists for fast, cheap, good food.
Pros: Garlic sauce, great shawerma
Cons: Hummus could be better

The garlic sauce is addicting. The chicken can
be a little dry but the wrap is still very good.
Beck even mentions this place in one of his songs.

The garlic sauce was more bitter than I remember 10 years ago, but it was very good with the delicious Armenian bread (pita). The chicken that I got was not juicy. The chicken I buy from Cosco is bigger, juicier, and cheaper. The falafel plate was like $8, a little more than I was expecting but it was pretty good. Service was pretty fast.
Pros: pita, garlic sauce, fast service
Cons: ambience, dry chicken, not as cheap as expected

I had my reservations about this restaurant because of where it was located, but once inside it was nice, clean place with a friendly staff. The food was amazing! The roasted chicken is so juicy and the Tri-Tip Shawerma was sooo tasty. It is a lot of food, you could even share a plate with a friend. The pita bread they serve with the hummus is soft and warm. I really love this place, so don't let the exterior scare you off.
Pros: Chicken, Tri-Tip Shawerma, Hummus, Garlic Sauce
Cons: parking, cash only
