Second to None - Womens Consignment

Good: Organized. It is the only nice thing I could come up with. I always appreciate an organized store.. Bad: The owner cut me off when she misunderstood my choice not to consign. Scolded me for compring her to Spankys. Told me she was Nordstrom?? Had me get my items, then told me about no hangers/no servicee. Grabbed my first few items on top and said no way! Tried to flirt with my boyfriend. The only funny part. Told me not to fold my clothes because she just dusted and I was dusty? Then intentionally ignored me. Was this a joke? No. I will be writing a detailed blog about this very true and disturbing exp. Improvements: Many!! I review consignment shops as a personal consultant for both clothing and home decor. I could not recommend her in any way. I have never been so insulted and stunned by a retail store emplyee or owner. I have managed and owned my own retail stores. I will never return to her store no matter how she improves (if so). Consignment started from Churches/Missions as non profit and Salv. Army and Goodwill set the character a like shop should follow.. Other: This store owner's concept of consignment/resale is confusing and disturbing. I got the idea she wants to be the Nordstrom of resale. Quality and service is what made Nordstrom what they are not snooty, judgmental, rude and intentionally rude owners or employees. I honestly don't see why anyone would shop there. There are so many wonderful resale shops around helping those that need the lower prices to afford those nice items others provide. I want all to know and hopefully get the owners attn. for change!!. more

Since when is a resale store, consignment or not, referenced as a department store??? I checked it out and in no way did it remind me of Ross or T.J. Maxx! A consignment store is an upscale Thrift Store! The difference is a Thrift store is ran usually based on a Non Profit organization or it supports programs that help or aid the less fortunate in our community. A Consignment store a usually is privately owned and is just like a store, ran for profit, its just cleaner and higher priced... the owner has to make some money to pay for rent space. This shop is no different than when I shop at Ross, TJ Maxx, or Nordstroms Rack- some days there is nothing worth my time on the racks but on other days I strike gold. My best & favorite find at Second to None was a beautiful designer sweater in like new condition for only $21 which would have cost me at least 10X that for the same thing bought new at a regular store carrying that designer and at least 3 to 4 times that at Ross or Nordstroms Rack. more

Maybe I was just in there on a bad day, but I wasn't impressed with the selection or the prices. I do shop at Ross quite a bit for my clothing, and for the same price as this consignment shop I will get it new. I found very few tops, exept on the clearance rack, that were less than $8.99. I prefer some name brand clothing as well because of thier consistancy in quality, but had very little luck finding what I liked. Like I said, perhaps it was a bad day, and I do understand some consignment shops can rotate their stock quickly. But I have no desire to go back and check. I'll stick with Ross. more
