The new owner of Tropic Tan is the nicest most friendly person I've ever had the pleasure of talking to. Her staff is right up there with her. I came here after looking up tanning salons in my area on citysearch and i must say that I am VERY tan after comming here just a couple times in the most recent months. I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone!! Pros: Friendly front desk, wonderful new owner! Cons: There are absolutely NO cons!

I went to Tropic Tan which is now under new ownership. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The salon is very sanitary and comfortable. The prices and packages are very reasonable. I will definitely continue going there for my tanning needs. Pros: Good location off Newport Blvd.

I have gone to this establishment a few times, but never again will I go. I went before a vacation I was taking and spent $22 on the stand up bed. I have olive skin, have been tanning at a salon near my work and also tanned outside all summer. So when I went here this time, it had been a while since I had used their bed... well let me just say that when I left there, I looked exactly the same as when I walked in. I had noticed a light flickering on and off in the bed (#6) that I was using, but didnt think one bulb would make a difference. Later I went home and showered as this usually is the time when I notice some change in my pigment. Nothing. The next day I called to let the staff know and they basically told me that they didnt care, giving me all these excuses and bringing up the fact that I hadnt been there since February. I kept telling the girl that Id been to other tanning salons, but she was convinced that I needed to use their salon in order to get a tan and that using the bed for the max time wouldnt producer results on the first visit... she then proceeded to tell me that if she had been the one helping me, I wouldnt have gotten to go in for the full 10 minutes since I hadnt used THEIR salon since February. In the end, she took my number and said she would have the manager call me the next day. I was on my way to show her my skin, but she said she was closing up for the day. I never got a call back... I never got anything, not even a tan for my $22! Me and my friends will never go here again. Im telling everyone about this place. Pros: Nothing! Cons: You dont get tan, so you might as well just hand them money and walk out!
