The Bryant Museum has all kinds of stuff from the times of great Bama Football. It is especially heavy on its namesake, The Bear. There are video clips and displays and a conference room for group meetings. There is a nominal fee to enter but if you love SEC football it is really worth it because this is a huge collection of memorabilia.

Leland Lanes is my fave bowling spot. They have this event sometimes called midnight bowling. It starts at 11 pm and the whole place goes dark. There are black lights and your ball glows kinda and certain pins do too. So, you bowl and if you knock down certain ones, you win a beer. I am not sure how often they do that though, but, it is fun.
During the day though, it's a total family place. There are lots of people bringing their kids to bowl here. It's fun for everybody.

More
This museum is pretty good for Tuscaloosa as it has some really unique pieces including original paintings of George Washington. If you are ever up by the yacht club you should stop by at least once and see all the pieces on display. The reason I took off one star is because the organization is kind of chaotic, as it is just like they placed all the pieces in random locations, if they took some time to come up with a good organization this would be an awesome museum. I really like the building and the view is very scenic. The lake is a cool place to visit also.

Woods and Waters new meglo-outdoor goods store sits atop scenic ridge rd overlooking McConnel Hills, The Tuscaloosa Memorial Gardens, and some run down aparts, but dont let that stop you. They have a huge selection of clothing and outdoor wear, guns, ammo, bird calls, archery, fishing and tackle, and hunting dog supplies. The store is adorned with all kinds of stuffed animals and there are neat displays and murals. The only down side is the price, it can get a bit expensive, but you pay for quality and quantity I suppose. If the prices were a bit less i would shop here all the time.

In this mini course, there is a beginner level and a challenge level with harder to master holes.
It is not pricey at all, and you really get your money's worth! It is an attractive place as well, without the "amusing" hole blockers that you often see in novelty mini golf courses. It is well kept and looks like a mini "professional" golf course.
They cater to birthday parties as well, so if your little golfer wants a golf themed birthday , this would be a good place to take a few friends for some birthday fun. It's a small place, so you should always call in advance if you ever have a big party with you. It's located right on Hwy 69 S.

super skate is still a great place to go sure times have changed and kids are in general worse these days than in the 80's but on afternoon sessions it is very family oriented. on night sessions it's more for kids 12-15 but parents are welcome to stay. the price has gone up like everything else but $8 for 4 hours at night is still a bargain. on the afternoon sessions it is still $5 for 3 hours and if you have your own skates you get a $1 discount. the snack bar prices are not high like at the movies. And their party prices are CHEAP!!!! $59 for 10 kids that's only $9 more than regular price. and all you do is bring the cake. Say what you want but in my opinion there aren't many things for families and young kids to do in this town why hold a business responsible for the lack of parenting that these kids are receiving at home. I am sure with a building full of know it all pre-teens/teens on friday/saturday it is not an easy job but atleast they try. Their are people in charge there trying to keep your children safe. do you think anyone is watching the door to make sure your child doesn't leave the mall or the movies? In all honesty no matter where you drop off your kids if you can't trust them to do as they should you shouldn't leave them. Superskate is in the entertainment business not the childcare business> otherwise I am sure the price would be higher. that's pretty cheap babysitting @ $2 per hour.

This place has more rubber worms than the rubber worm factory. They also sell hunting supplies and accessories, but they dont have a very big selection. I would not recommend buying a gun or ammunition there because the people do not really seem to know what they are talking about. But they have tons of fishing supplies, tackle, lures, reels, and rods.

I go here every weekend. It's got a great green and it's the most affordable one I've found yet. But, I'm still trying out different places in different counties too.
Mimosa is a public course and they have 18 holes. 18 holes usually costs $40, but, you have unlimited time on the green. If you get there after 12 noon, they sometimes have what they call a moonlight madness. It costs only $20 then and you can play through the day. It's a pretty nice place and I always have fun there. Well, when I'm having a good game that is.

Alabama Outdoor is a different type of store, it isnt a sporting goods store and it isnt hunting oriented. It is a store for people that like to camp, hike, raft, canoe, bike, etc. A place for those of us that just love being outdoors. It is a bit small and cramped and the prices are high on some stuff, but they have a selection of stuff that others dont. Therefore, I know I can always find what I need for a weekend get-away.

More
T-Town Billiards is a fun place to go and just hang out at. They have weekly pool tournaments that are fun to watch , or even get in on. A quick plus and negative: They have a limited amount of tables. The plus to that is that even after the fact, there always seems to be a table open to play on. If you go solo, you will always find someone willing to play you in a game, if you want to. Word to the wise though, if the stranger who wants to play you is playing extremely badly, then possibly they are a shark, and just really bad at losing on purpose without being obvious.
Still, it's a fun Friday or Saturday night place.
