I graduated in 2004 from UA. It was the best college experience of my life (as I am not quite through with higher education). The campus is beautiful, the football legendary, and Tuscaloosa is a great little city. Truly the finest university in the state, and one of the top 50 in the nation. It is easy to become involved on campus, and easy to stay informed. Most students live on or near campus, and you can make a lot of lifelong friends. Like a lot of large campuses, parking is terrible and a real problem if you don't live within walking distance. Most of the dorms are not exceptional, but I lived in one for 3 years and survived. It makes making friends really easy, and great for study groups. I honestly can't say enough great things about UA.

What can I say, I worked at the SUPe store for nearly a year as a student worker. They have great Bama apparel and merchandise as well as textbooks. I bought most of my textbooks there, and they really aren't any more overpriced than any of the other bookstores in the area (though the Off-campus book store, new when I graduated, should be handy). They also have art supplies, mailing envelopes, pens and pencils, and those are relatively affordable. It was very convenient to run into the SUPe store to get a drink or a snack at the Ferg, or get an envelope and walk across to the post office to mail it. Their prices on snacks and such are a lot cheaper than upstairs in the food area, and they accept bama cash and dining dollars as well. Ah, good times! I miss UA.

My children go to Maw Maw's and they are EXCELLENT!!! It is definately more than just a "Day Care". My oldest son has learned so much from them, I know he would definately do great if he was able to skip kindergarden and go straight to first grade. He has so much fun going to school and he has made alot of new friends there. Their lessons are excellent, the activities he brings home are wonderful, and we have had a great experience with them. My infant started there this year and their infant room is very large with alot of baby activity toys. He has NEVER had a diaper rash, they change diapers often, unlike some of the other day care centers around. Everytime I go in the infant room it is quiet and all of the babies are happy. My oldest has been going there since he was 1 and I have had my infant in there since he was 3 months old, the staff at Maw Maw's is wonderful and they take excellent care of the children. Everyone of the teachers are fun and happy, they seem to love their job and not just be there to get a paycheck every week. I could go on and on about my wonderful experiences with taking my children to Maw Maw's, I would recommend this learning center to EVERYONE, even if you live on the other side of Tuscaloosa, it is well worth the drive!!
