I've stayed in just about every hotel imaginable with work... from really nice places to gross motels in the middle of nowhere.
But when I pick a place to stay myself (if I'm paying and not using rewards points), I choose a comfort inn (or sometimes their sister chain, Sleep Inn). While there's nothing fancy about them, the rooms are squeeky clean, the hotel staff is friendly, and they take care of you.
Beyond the pool and excercise room, don't expect a luxery stay. Breakfast is mediocre, the lobby is small, and the bathroom is a standard hotel bathroom. But you NEVER have to worry about cleanliness.
I'd recomend just about any Comfort Inn in the country... prices range from $50-$90 a night, but it feels like a $100 room.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We changed rooms once because the phone didn't work in our first room. The next room we were sent to had a working phone, but there were cracks in the walls, places where pictures had been removed and the nail holes were still untouched. The room we were in needs some very serious work!
On a better note, the staff couldn't have been nicer nor more accomodating. They also have a nice restaurant and a sports bar at the hotel that have real good food.

On our anniversary, we stayed here. It was a dream. The room was huge! The bed was bigger than any we'd ever been in before! We had a sink, coffemaker, and microwave. We also had a jacuzzi in the suite.
The bathroom was stocked, the glasses were glasses, not cups. The only complaint we had was htat their breakfast didn't have what we wanted.
Otherwise, it was wonderful!!!

Whenever I venture to Tulsa, I like to try different hotels. I have had fantastic experiences, as well as horrible experiences. One thing that I can say about the Red Roof Inn is that their quality is dependable. I have stayed at their chain in different states, as well, and have always known that I can get a good night's sleep, be treated courteously, and have the necessary ammenities.
As a business owner, and a mom, there are many things I appreciate about the Red Roof Inn. First, kids stay free... pretty self explanatory, saves a lot of money! Second, I have always been provided with ample work space, and free high speed internet, to keep up with all that work on the road. I definitely prefer their business suites, which are a bit more expensive, but offer more comfort, especially when it comes to space to spread out. The kids can be on the bed watching tv, and I have my own area to do my work without too many distractions.
I would recommend this chain to anyone who doesn't have a fortune to spend, but does not want to end up in one of those hole in the wall motels. Red Roof Inn, from my experience, has its locations in safe areas of town, close to shopping, food, all those things that you may need to get to, without wanting to drive too far in an unfamiliar city.
Definitely a family friendly and business friendly hotel, but at rates that are reasonable to all!

The Ramada Inn, in my experience traveling, is usually a safe bet, for a nice place to stay, and usually includes decent amenities, however, I am just not very impressed with their location on Harvard Avenue, in Tulsa. I was a guest at this hotel for about a week, while my home was being worked on. I usually don't mind staying in hotels, but this one just wasn't up to the standards I would expect for their prices.
The positives include an indoor pool and fitness center and a decent free breakfast.
The negatives, however, in my opinion, outweighed the positives. First, the price was in the high range for hotel stays. Second, the upkeep of the building was just not nearly what I would expect from a Ramada Inn. Third, the area where it is located is HORRIBLE!!! Right off the highway, you hear the traffic all night long. Also, it is hard to get in and out of the parking lot, as it is located right on Harvard Avenue, so don't expect to get anywhere easily during Tulsa's rush hour.
I don't know, this hotel just really rubbed me the wrong way, and I would not seriously consider staying there again. I would much prefer something in a quiter location, and something more special for the price.
