We decided to give Tosca Grill a second try, after being terribly disappointed the first time we dined there. It was New Year's Eve and we felt that New Year's Eve may not be the best time to review a restaurant. So went took ourselves to Troy this past week and not only was disappointed but a little angry that after a few years this restaurant has still not gotten it right. The bartender was rude and seemed almost annoyed when I asked for a wine list. He recommended a wine, which he let me taste, and I accepted it.He did not bother to tell me that it was $15 dollars. My husband ordered a bloody mary, and it took the bartender at least 10 minutes to finally get around to making it, he was taking drink orders from the wait staff. Then came dinner, we had to ask too many times for more bread and butter. The additional butter was put on the same plate that the first butter was served on, not good. The waiters while they tried, just did not make it. I can't stand it when the wait staff puts their fingers all over my dinner plate. Did anyone ever hear of putting a napkin between their hands and the plate. Dinner itself was not noteworthy, which arrived cold and the sweet potatoes was undercooked. Coffee was cold and I had to ask for a refill twice. At these prices, Chef Larry, your waitstaff should not be still in training. Oh the hostess was rude and not the least bit accommodating. The only one worth anything was the host that greeted us, who was quite accommodating when we asked to change tables. Other than that, if you want good food, attentive staff and a great bartender, go to Lo Porto. We will the next time.
