More
CONTACT of Mercer County is a non-profit, volunteer organization with over 200 active volunteers and as a volunteer this is one of the best nonprofit organizations in NJ. Its mission to help suicidal and depressed individuals is commendable. It is one of few 24 hour/7 day a week crisis intervention hotlines. Their reassurance program calls the elderly, homebound, and/or disabled to make sure they are OK. For most of these individuals, Contact is the only phonecall they receive in a day!
The HOTLINE is funded in part by the Greater Mercer County United Way and the Mercer County Division of Mental Health. Contact accepts individual donations and in this economic climate, it is important to give to just causes.

More
The nonprofit program recently united with the Trenton program and is now known as Mobile Meals of Trenton/Ewing. It currently provides meals for numerous residents of Trenton and Ewing, most of whom are elderly, chronically ill, convalescing or physically or mentally challenged.
A major goal of the Mobile Meals program is to help clients remain able to live independently and avoid institutionalization.
Most clients receive, for a nominal cost, a container of hot food and a bag of cold food including a beverage, salad, a roll and dessert.
This is a wonderful program in need of more volunteer and financial support. It is a worthy endeavor to be involved in.

This is a great park for seeing nature or just having some fun. It's huge. You can choose from several entrances off the main road into the park. One takes you to a marina that also has catering overlooking the lake and paddle boats. Another takes you to where there are picnic tables, grills, play equipment for the kids, and views of the lake. Another takes you to a skating rink and baseball, and soccer fields and basketball courts. Another takes you to where there are tennis courts and I don't know what else.
You can hike along the lake, fish the trout stocked lake, or take your boat for a ride.
We often drive through the park at dusk to see the deer that come out of the woods. Check this one out, it's really beautiful.

More
The Jewish Community Center of the Delaware Valley on Lower Ferry Road boasts a diverse array of programs for members (Jewish and non-Jewish). To join, the center offers a range of membership types, including one- and-two-parent families, out of region (not from Mercer, Middlesex or Bucks counties) and seniors over 60. While the grounds include basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, a miniature golf course, a softball field and a soccer field, it’s the three pools and the pool facilities that attracted our family. There is an Olympic-size pool with a diving area, a lap pool and an enclosed, two-foot-deep wading pool for children. The pool areas are fully staffed with Red Cross-certified lifeguards to assist swimmers. Shaded cabanas, beach chairs, a picnic grove and a Kosher snack bar allow you to relax and have a good time.
Throughout the summer, the JCC will hosts Sunday activities like their 4th of July party.
For “golden agers,” retirees gather daily for programs such as exercise classes, chorus, bridge and mah-jongg, movies and literature groups, as well as trips to museums, plays, Atlantic City, dances and picnics.
The JCC has something for everyone is a good change to the YMCAs or health clubs since it promotes family and friendliness.
