This is an excellent restaurant with some of the best sushi you're going to find. Only losers don't like this place. It has a nice small feel to it & doesn't take part in the wannabe LA "look at me" type of dining that is so prevalent in this town's "top" sushi restaurants. I recommend the spicy tuna with the crunchy rice, any of the sashimi and top it off with the tempura ice cream. Sit at the bar & enjoy sushi prepared by REAL JAPANESE sushi chefs (surprise! I'll bet you didn't think they were still around!).
Pros: Best sushi in the valley
Cons: Parking and the horrible business hours of the restaurant (closed during prime lunch time on weekends???)

I stumbled upon Big O back when my evil VW needed new struts and my "regular" mechanic quoted me a ridiculous price AND told me it would take 2 days. I called up David and Evan and their price was deemed reasonable by my sister in law (she's a mechanic in another state) and they said, maybe an hour or two. Bingo. David mentioned that they do more than just tires and struts and I haven't gone anywhere else since. My only regret is that now that I've bought a new car, I can only swing by for oil changes. (that's good news/bad news). Great guys, they are patient, efficient, willing to explain a problem to me, didn't treat me like an idiot and took very very good care of a VW that should have been taken out to pasture long ago. I take my friends there and even though I might move out of Encino, I will never go anywhere else with my car. I can't recommend them highly enough. If you want timely service, reasonable to good prices, skilled repair work and a friendly atmosphere (ie -- you're not just a number for them -- they actually remember and care about your vehicle) then go nowhere else. Big O Tires in Tarzana is the place to go.

This place is great! Great service, great food, great drinks. The vibe rocks, the music is off the hook, they have the best movies playing on the flat screen TV's. I don't normally review places but this one is a must go.
Pros: Service, Ambience
Cons: Cover charge

"From the first time I went here in '97 (yes that's over 10 years ago) I've been impressed by how consistently fresh the food is. I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to sushi. I would pick Tsune over Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills, both times Ive been there Im disappointed. Top of my list is Urasawa in Beverly Hills (but no, I dont want to sell my parents house to be able to afford to eat here again.) So, when Im in the mood for HUGE portions, SMALL prices and EXCELLENT sushi, I go to my old friend Tsune. Very FRIENDLY Staff. Sorry Tsune, there arent enough stars in here to rate your restaurant.
Pros: Good parking, good sushi, good service, great prices. What more could you ask for?

I highly recommend Local Affordable Movers. They arrived on time, were courteous, professional and came in very close to the estimated price. Micah and Jose were very careful with my possessions. Nothing was broken or scratched.

I've been going here for 20 years. This little gem is your classic neighborhood "greasy spoon" except that it's anything but greasy. I'm a sommelier. I know pretentious restaurants and corporate clones. This aint it. Good?no, GREAT, simple food, attentive service, HOME MADE HASH-OMG!!! And, the same two friendly owners who actually are there and even sit down with regulars when they are not scrambling to stay on top of service. Who knew guys like this still owned restaurants! Come here and you'll think you?re at your Aunt Fannie's. BTW: a secret Valley celeb hangout.
Pros: PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE
Cons: Don't forget the CASH!!! The guy next door is getting rich from the ATM he installed.

We just started going to El Patron last year, though it has been there for years. The service is good and the food is even better. The bean dip they bring with the chips and salsa is delicious. Their tacos and fajitas are terrific. The kids menu provides other alternatives for the picky eaters like chicken fingers and pizza.
