I just found this place and have only been in a handful of times to order somehing to go, but I have still been helped at least twice by the owner himself. That shows dedication to customer satisfaction. And the Italian cold cut subs are GREAT!

As I sat down, I noticed that the table had not been wiped down from the previous customer. I figured I was going to ask the busser or server to do so. I then opened the menu and saw a piece of ziti stuck to it with some marinara crusted to it. Oh wow, I thought. I then grabbed the silverware roll and noticed food stuck on the knife. Three strikes, you're out. I got up and walked out. Could you imagine what the kitchen looked like? I don't know who they payed off for the A rating in the window

Hi, Ive been going to Frankies for the last 5 years I felt mr weenos review was unfair and unjustifiable being that I was sitting at the table behind mr weeno and his parents..One thing that mr weeno left out of his review was that after being told he wasnt going to be comped or discounted and that Lionel the owner was sorry for his mis reading the menu board.only to be loudly and abusively and infront of myself my party and another table and 4 or 5 of his employees called an":ARROGANT SON OF A --ITCH" by mr weeno. After hearing the obvious flagrant namecalling, the owner, I feel responded accordingly by telling mr weeno to leave his establishment and not to come back..I love the food and the wonderfull service I have always received at Frankies..One bad apple with a bad attitude wont stop me from telling all my friends how exceptionally excellent the food and service always has and will be..Thanks Frankies for all the great food and service and I will see you on Valentines day for dinner

We've been going to Frankie's with my parents for years ( not 25 because it hasn't been Frankie's for 25 years) but still, for a long time. Not only have we always been treated as valued guests but we've been made to feel like family every time we visit.. The menu selections are always fresh and delicious, prepared beautifully and served hot. If you want something that isn't on the menu, they'll do their best to make it happen. One of the indications of a great neighborhood restaurant is how many people are willing to wait for a table. That can happen fairly often at Frankie's but if you call ahead you'll get an honest estimate of how long you might have to wait and they do their best to honor reservations in a timely manner.
We hope they'll be there for many more years.
Pros: Great food, great people.
Cons: Sometimes a little too crowded and noisy.

Other reviews reflect my experience at Frankie's - til last night. If our experience was caused by an employee, rather than the owner, I wouldn't post this review - because it wouldn't be fair to the owner. But the OWNER's handling of a situation is what warrants this review.
My dad ordered a meal off the "specials" board, which he thought the board indicated was $13.99. When he ordered his meal, he said "the pasta on the board that's $13.99". When he got the bill, he noticed he was charged $17.99.
He asked about the charge. The owner said not only wasn't it $13.99, but there was no price specified at all. (My dad would never order anything that he didn't know the price of.) My dad paid it anyway, and tipped without regard to his frustration about the bill. I finally looked at the "board" myself. I also thought that his meal was listed at $13.99.
I told the owner, tongue-in-cheek, that I rarely agree with my parents -- but that I agreed with them here. The "board" is confusing, I said. Besides, when he ordered, he specifically mentioned the price of the item he was ordering -- i.e, $13.99. I had no clue where the conversation would go next.
I'd hoped for an "I'm sorry", or "I'll credit the difference", or "I can see how all 3 of you were confused". Instead, he patronized us for being confused and for, in his view, having the audacity to question the sanctity of his "board".
When he saw me freeze over his unyielding response and challenge him on it (without being insulting or rude), he said "shut the f-ck up and get the f-ck out". He added "you're lucky I own the place" - as if he'd treat us worse if he were just an employee. As I walked out, his employees physically restrained him from following me outside.
So, after eating at Frankie's for 25 years (which is 10 years longer than the owner has owned it), my 70 year old parents and I were thrown out -- all over a confusing "specials board" and a poorly handled frustration over it.
