Ybor City State Museum The Ybor City State Museum complex includes an ornamental garden and three restored cigar worker's houses. One house, La Casita, is a museum. The Ferlita Bakery building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed on major holidays.
Admission is charged.
Historic Tours each Saturday at 10:15 a.m. start at the Ybor City State Museum. Tour of the Cigar Worker's House Museum and a walk about tour of Ybor City. Cost is $4 per person and limited to 20 people, no reservations taken, approximately 1 hour.

My husband and I went on the yacht starship for our anniversary. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and thought the food was excellent. I had a shrimp appetizer that I still to this day remember(and its been over a year ago). I tell everyone I know about what an enjoyable experience I had. I am planning to go next weekend with my husband, brother and his wife. I read the other reviews and I didn't have any of the problems they described. I hope that things haven't changed since last year. I also remember parking in a lot right beside the ship. I had a great evening and with the discount this month it is really a great opportunity to have a memorable evening.

This station is part public television, part instructional television and part local television. At almost anytime in the evening there will be something interesting being shown. Instructional television serves its purpose, but most of the general public would not be interested. The local aspect of the station often illuminates events and locations that may not otherwise get much media attention. I can always count on seeing something that improves my day.

I just completed a golf outing that included a foursome from the Midwest.
We had the opportunity to play a good number of courses in the Tampa
area (TPC, The Eagles, Chaval, Fox Hollow, Westchase, etc.) Our
experience at Westchase was far and away the best. Not only was it the
best manicured course that we played but the staff and service was un-
equaled. We are all reasonably good golfers - single handicap - and
plan yearly golf trips throughout the US. Our consensus was Westchase
was one of the top courses we have had the opportunity to play. A final
note, the greens were immaculate and well groomed. Any putt on line
went in.

USF Botanical Gardens are breath taken and peaceful. You can find many different flowers and plants, plus as an added bonus many different butterflies fling around. I stumbled on the USF Botanical Gardens while I was shopping with a friend. As you are walking USF Botanical Gardens you can lose yourself in its beauty. If you plan on going to see USF Botanical Gardens I high recconmend.

Great venue for local bands of any type, they have bands playing all the time. Voted Ybor's best music venue two years in a row. It can get a bit crowded inside when theres a popular band playing but theres enough room to get some breathing space if you want. Only real problem is the lack of variety, most of the bands are rock/emo.

The Florida Aquarium is a great place for the whole family to have fun. The aquarium itself is truely lovely and always safe and clean. The exhibts even give hands on action including touching sealife like starfish. In the summer time the Aquarium even has a small waterpark for the kids to play in and cool down. This is great for all ages and sometimes the adults even have more fun than the kids there.

I was quite amazed when entering the Tampa Theater. I didn't know it would be as pretty as it is. It is essentially built in an art-deco style, with Egyptian motifs throughout. If you are looking for "art house" films, this is the place to go. They regularly show interesting films that mainstream theaters wouldn't bother with. They also have a variety of other events--speakers, bands, authors, etc. A very interesting space to visit. I think they also have a "behind-the-scenes" tour on Saturdays.

The TMA a great place for kids of any age. The stuff for toddlers all the way up. Very open spaces, hands on, colorful and inviting, this museum has a lot to offer. My kids especially like the bubble tank and the dress up areas but there is so much to do, I'm sure you will find something for everyone in your family. Not a cheap day but I suggest skipping the attached McDonald's and bringing a lunch. Lots a space outside to sit and picnic right by the river.
