Some of the posted info read on here is a tad bit old so I figured I would update it! Monday: "Retrogressive" with DJ Rob Pittman upstairs doing a great variety of alternative-80s/90s videos with some retro pop thrown in for good measure. DJ Sean is downstairs spinning a wider mix of darker alternative music. Thursday: "Pop N Wave" with VJ Mike Roehr upstairs playing videos that sometimes defy classification! UK/France/US/You name it, if it's a cool video it's probably in rotation. Caters more towards the hipper club goer with out any of the pretention of a scene. Friday: "Coffin Classics" with DJ Sean upstairs playing your old school, dark club favorites and DJ Rich Rank downstairs often blowing your mind with his guest dj's spinning anything you can classify as "cool" Saturdays: DJ Tom Gold leads the charge with the occasional guest of his, playing the cream of the crop of what's new in goth/industrial/idm/ebm/et al. Stompfest for sure and it's a blast! Never a dress code, best drink in Ybor City, be sure to come as you are because everyone is welcome at The Castle! Pros: Alternative really fits this place! Cons: Sometimes crowded and can get a bit warm in the summer!

It is an amazing spot to meet up with fellow goths and really just interesting and entertaining people! You will see some FUNNY and crazy stuff there! This is 'the' club to go to if you love Pop/wave or goth industrial or go on Monday and relive the good times with their 80's night. The upstairs is where the party is and the downstairs bar is a good chill out and cool off spot. If your in Ybor or going to be soon I highly recommend checking it out. Pros: Music, people, three bars Cons: Can get very crowded.

This is a great place to go dancing if you want to see what the goth lifestyle is all about. The castle certainly lives up to its gothic namesake. The atmosphere is dark and cold and completely reminiscent of visigoth times. I loved their velvet setees and felt very comfortable in this environment. I attended a fetish convention held in this place and was completely amazed at all the fetishes that I saw. This place has two floors and three bars and the drinks are reasonably priced. There is also a tattoo parlor for those who are brave enough to stamp themselves for life! The music is what is calle electro synthgoth and the patrons of this place are very interesting to see how they interpret their individual version of goth. There are dancing girls up on blocks dancing to the beat of the gothic music. This place can certainly be considered Halloween every weekend of the year. If you choose to venture out and check out this scene I suggest you wear something black to totally fit in. I can honestly say that I had an amazing time at this place and would highly recommend this to any and all who are seeking to check out how the dark side entertains themselves. Word of caution..bring an open mind.

I used to come here a lott when I lived in Tampa, they have different themes every night like 9 my favorite) goth/industrial and others like 80's night or dance music. They make great drinks and have different bands play there all the time. Lots of cool people hang out here, it's a great place to make new friends. I miss this place, check it out if you're in the area.

The Mecca of the Tampa Bay hipster scence, the Castle, has long been known for it's unique atmosphere and clientele. Hip hoppers beware...black mesh sleeves and S&M wear are part of the dress code here. Thursdays are notoriously the best night to go (music wise and scene wise) but it's always packed. Mondays were my long favorite for a while, playing a majority of 80's goth pop college dance hits. If it's industrial night, well, just be carefull. The castle really is a lot of fun, but not for the faint of heart. Drinks are reasonably priced (compared to other bars) but you really go for the dancing anyway. PROS: Great music on certain nights, creepy atmosphere. CONS: Weird guy in a thong is ALWAYS there, just don't get in his way and your ok
