It is a while since we last visited, It is not my favorite zoo but great for kids. Recognized as the #1 family-friendly Zoo in the United States by Child magazine, Tampa’s Lowery Park Zoo features more than 1,700 animals on 56 acres of lush, natural habitats in seven main exhibit areas: Asian Domain, Primate World, Manatee and Aquatic Center, Native Florida Wildlife Center, Free-Flight Aviary, Wallaroo Station children’s zoo, and the new Safari Africa. For the young and young at heart, Tampa’s Lowery Park Zoo offers many interactive experiences to help teach the value of the living world firsthand. Visitors can feed giraffe, stingrays and take a ride on a Dromedary camel or pony. In Safari Africa, zoo goers can soar across the zoo on the Skyfari sky ride or hop aboard the Safari Ride for a guided tour. Also at the zoo: two water play areas, educational shows, rides and restaurants.

When we lived in Tampa we would go to Lowry Park Zoo and enjoy the animals. This is a totally different experience to the animals at Busch Gardens. Lowry Park Zoo is very kid friendly and is easy to walk. I always love the big cats but you will see a good variety of animals. Hungry or thirsty? Then you can get a bite to eat. Of course there is the gift shop to get those last few dollars from you. I do like the kiddies amusement area for the little ones. So if you are heading south on Busch Blvd. you just may want to make the turn for Lowry Park Zoo.

Lowry Park Zoo really has turned into a great success story. Great improvements have been made in the past 5 years or so and the exhibs are really nice. The grounds are always clean and the admission price is low. Although it may not be the biggest zoo it is a really nice place for little ones and caters to entertainment for young children. Dont missunderstand me though, this zoo is definately entertaining for any age.

This zoo has a lot of exhibits where animals are in their natural environments. There is a manatee exhibit where you can see the animals above and below the water. They have a great bird exhibit where you pay a small fee for bird seed and the birds will fly up to you and eat the food out of your hand.They have a petting zoo for the younger children.They have a few kiddie rides for an extra fee.They also have camel and horse rides for an extra fee. It comes out cheaper if you purchase a ride bracelet so the children can go on the rides as many times as they like.There is a McDonalds restaurant inside the park.This is a great zoo for the entire family.

This zoo has so much to see and do you may have to go several times to get the full experience. They are constantly adding on to the park too. There are an assortment of animals, from sea life, to African safari. Some of the animals are in air conditioned buildings. They have a large merry go round for the kids in all kinds of animal shapes. There is a water section to cool down.

You can purchase a day pass or season passes here. They have many different animal exhibits to see here. They have manatees, rhinos, and many other animal exhibits here. It is a nice place to relax and have a slow paced day. They only have 1 ride here that you have to pay for, the merry go round. We went here a few years ago for the zoo boo where the dressed the park up with several different haunted houses. it was really neat to be in the park at night and take a haunted hayride. I suggest checking it out with the family.

The Lowry park zoo is such a wonderful place. They have a variety of animals and it is kept so clean! They offer yearly passes which are very inexpensive as well. My children love this zoo! They have a lot of activities for children as well. The gift shops are moderately overpriced but they offer a wide selection of souvenirs. There are a few restuarants and little kiosks along the walways that offer very good food. Prices are reasonable.

This is a wonderful zoo to visit with my family and friends. Kids and adults alike had a great time. My kids had such a good time riding the camels and observing the other animals. The staff was knowledgeable and kind. I do suggest visiting during the cooler months because the heat can be awful during the summer.

We had a wonderful time at Lowry Park Zoo a few months ago. The park is a great size and has awesome exhibits. There is a small petting zoo for the kids too. My son was in awe with the elephants and tigers. They always have something going on...lots of special events. My favorite place was the Safari Africa. The fees are reasonable and you have the opportunity to feed certain animals (for a very small fee). It is a great place to go for all ages.
