My room-mate and I try to stop by Samrat at least once a month. It's always been a favourite of ours, especially with their delicious Palak Paneer -- and the cheese naan is to die for! We may not stray much for the main courses, but we've tried almost every bread they have, and the cheese naan is our particular recommendation. Bring plenty of room because it's a good deal of food for a decent price. Don't expect a lot of the interior (it's a converted drive-through), but the staff is friendly and the food is excellent!

I've never been to Samrat for anything other than the Saturday lunch buffet (all vegetarian). The location is nothing fancy (a converted drive thru resturaunt), but they make do with what they have quite nicely. I love their curry sauces, and the naan is perfect. I think they have lunch buffets every day, but only the weekend one is vegetarian. Their buffets are around $7 with tip.

One of the only Indian restaurants in tallahassee, this place is nothing fancy. But the chefs turn out good tandoori chicken (chicken cooked in a tandoor, or clay, oven with mild Indian spices). The paneer masala consists of homemade cheese tossed in butter and cultured yogurt and served with creamy sauce and rice. AE, DC, MC, V. Closed weekdays 2:30-5.
