After reading some of the reviews I was almost afraid to go for my day in heaven I got as a Birthday present, but let me tell you I was greatly surprised. It was one of the best day spa's I have ever been to and I have been to several. The employees were very professional and pleasant. As I was taken from one wonder experience to another I was treated so nicely by everyone I came in contact with. All of my services were preformed on time and in a very professional manner. I feel I had to write this to say that I know most people have a very pleasant experience, but just don't take the time to state their appreciation and I wanted to and to say Thank You, Bernice at Betton for a wonderful day.

This salon charges customers whatever it wants depending on who walks through the door. Horrible service. As the technician was preparing to do the appointment, she realized that there had been a mistake in the scheduling of the service to be performed, and left the room. Upon return with another woman, she informed me that the service the salon had scheduled was only slotted for fifteen minutes, while a leg wax would take much more time. Thus, she and the other woman were going to both perform the leg wax. It was clear to me that the other woman was not familiar at all with the procedures for waxing. Throughout the procedure, she continually asked if she was positioning the wax in the right way, and the other technician also asked if she was okay, if she needed help, etc. In addition, I had seen the other woman stocking shampoo bottles upon my arrival, which led me to believe she was not a licensed technician, but a front desk receptionist. Moreover, the technician placed the hot wax plate between my legs on the table, and even had me turn over while the hot wax plate was still there. She turned the heat up to the maximum as well, to make sure that they could finish the appointment within the allotted fifteen minutes. All of this was concerning to me, as I believed I had someone who was unaware of the procedures involved in such a service performing such service on me, as well as having very hot wax between my legs with the possibility of being burned at any moment. At the conclusion of the service, the salon charged me double what I had previously been charged ($45) at a prior appointment just a few months before, and double of that which was listed on my client services card on the receptionist's desk. The receptionist had taken the client services card and crossed out $45 which was printed on the card and wrote in $90. Thus, I was charged $90 dollars for this service. The website says $30. I called several times to talk to the manager and even sent a letter and got absolutely no response.

I can't even express how disappointing my visit was to this salon. I went during the last couple weeks of Apr. for professional make up application ($25 plus tip). The tech was very friendly (Diane)--I don't know if she was the right professional for the job. I'm a 30-something female who needed a natural look that would bring out the color of my eyes, reflect light off my flaws, & also needed a not-too-shiny foundation. My first surprise was when the tech told me I should have waxed my eyebrows--not a positive start. 2nd, she began by using concealer, w/out even cleaning my face. After my 3rd attempt at bringing that to her attention in a subtle way, she finally handed me a warm cloth to hold on my lower face. The lip base tasted rancid, but I honestly thought it was supposed to taste that way. The lipstick itself tasted worse. When I looked in the mirror after the application process, I was using indoor lighting & the colors didn't look right-under my eyes was too light, the eyeshadow seemed 'smeared", instead of professionally blended,& the lipstick was out of my natural lip line. In my car, I could see even better. She lined my inner eyelids, which made my eyes appear much smaller than what they are naturally. I had to fix the lipstick, and I had to pat at my face, which was shiny. I was having professional photographs done, so I could not go back in and utilize more time spent with the tech. I bought my own mascara, took off the sticky stuff she had applied, and fixed that as well. My photographer had to constantly wipe the eyeshadow away, as it ran and smeared throughout our session. I used this salon for my wedding years ago, & had a different tech who gave me such a perfect look, I felt it necessary to use them again for this very important photographing event. However, I won't ever return again. A call later put me w/an empathetic receptionist, who mentioned their eyeshadow should Not run, & perhaps the make up was expired--She took my number & no one bothered to follow up.

I went to this salon two times about 6 months apart. Both times I received a haircut and a hairstyle.The first time the woman cut my hair way too short although I had shown her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like. I decided to go again to give them a second chance, which I regret now. I had a picture again and the woman did not even come close to what I showed her. In fact, my hair did not even look like they were done professionally. They looked like they were done by a person in training who did not even make sure that my hair was completely dry when I left. I could have a better haircut if I had asked a friend to do it for me (it was that bad!) I would not recommend this salon for the hair services.

I went to Bernice at Betton for the first time for a facial. The facial overall was nice but I was disappointed in the service. The woman who was giving me a facial did not think before she spoke and made me feel inadequate because I was approaching thirty and had no children. I would return to the salon but would make sure that this woman did not give me a facial again.

The past several times that I have gone to Bernice's, I have felt that the receptionists just didn't care. They are basically there to get their minimun wage an hour and dip out. They don't care if you have had a stressful day and that's why you are at the spa to relax, r if you have just had the best day in your life...they don't even really look at you when you are giving them in formation. They look on their computer screen and if they have to hand you back a credit card, they just throw it up on the counter and go about their business.
