The was my first job in Tallahassee when I moved here years ago. There's a great atmosphere in this restaurant. I quickly learned that on game days, J&Ms in the place to meet. Alumni would come in 4 hours before the game to watch the other games on TV and watch SportCenter to catch up on all the scores. Their friends would eventually start joining their table and half hour before kick off, the place would clear out...everyone headed to the game. It's also the place to be found after a heavy night of partaking in mass quantities of spirits...their breakfast will cure ANY hangover. Highly recommend Jim & Milt's!

I always forget about Jim Milts, but the truth is that I've ended up here a number of times, nursing a hangover or fueling on through finals week on one of their breakfast specials. For about $5 you can get a really good breakfast. If it's later in the day, you can dig into one of their tasty BBQ plates. They also have AYCE nights (I can't remember the schedule, but it's a good call for those with insatiable appetites for BBQ). They usually have pitcher specials or buy one get one beer specials, which makes J&M a good place to start the evening festivities. The crowd is decidedly college, but not obnoxiously so (like PoBoys across the street). Generally, the wait staff is friendly and helpful...but everyone has their off days. The final verdict: there are probably better BBQ joints in town, but this one is pretty good!

I wouldn't say it is great but it is good and cheap and the portions are good size. The pork sandwich is really good and so is the chicken sandwich. The BBQ sauce is really good, I like it better than Sonny's but that is just me. It is a popular college hang out so it can get a little crowded but still worth it.

I recently stopped in to have breakfast and was pleasantly rewarded with friendly Southern service, generous portion sizes and a tab that would satisfy any college budget. The atmosphere on this early morning was one of good friends stopping by the diner on their way to work as if it were part of a daily routine. I happened to have guests with me who are usually difficult to keep fed and satisfied and by the time we left they were fed and happy. The service is quick for the most part though as we sat there, the restaurant started to fill up and the staff had difficulties getting back to us. All in all, a nice out of the ordinary place to have a good hot breakfast country style.
