I just recently found this place the other week and I love it. They are kind of hidden in a business building which keeps the price of the jewelry down. The staff was so nice and friendly and the diamonds were GORGEOUS. I have not purchased anything yet but I have my eye on some items. It's in downtown Tacoma at the same building at the Vault so parking is on the street wherever you can find it. Hours are M-F 9-6 but during peak holiday times they will accommodate you at an appointed time.

Mac goes out and buys up estates and then packs the spoils into this warehouse-like building. Sales are every other Saturday, and it's kind of like a giant garage sale with really nice furniture and other fixtures. We've gotten some great deals here on beautiful items and we've seen a lot of other nice stuff go by. We have a 1920s Craftsman house and a lot of the stuff is appropriate to our era of home, but there is also typically some really awesome and crazy 50s and 60s era things. We love to just go browse here, hopefully I won't regret letting out the secret! Keep an eye out for their auctions as well!

Freighthouse Square is the most unique shopping experience I've ever had! The building is shaped like a long, long freight train, and that's the motif the designers went with on the inside. Adorable, unique little shops line both sides of the long, long hallway, with 1800's train decor prominent everywhere. The effect is completely unique, although I suppose that technically it could be called a 'mall' of sorts since it is all indoor shopping.
Most of the little shops are gift shops, although there are a fair number of restaurants as well. In the basement, reached by a long flight of steps, are an antique shop and other areas.
It's entirely possible to spend an entire day just wandering and browsing the shops, especially at Christmas! Much more fun than the regular Mall.

I have had my computer serviced here by these guys twice. Only because I'm too cheap to part with my old workhorse Sony laptop that's 5 years old! Oh well - I know I need a new comp but being technologically-challenged, I am too confused as to what to buy. These guys knew of the product-specific issues with my Vaio and knew exactly how to fix it, which was really nice. I'm glad they didn't have to guess. The rates were very reasonable and they didn't try to charge me extra for anything. I paid a low, fair price for my repairs and I would not hesitate to go back to these guys. They knew what they were doing and they did it right, in no time flat.

Kaufers specializes in Catholic supplies of all sorts- greeting cards, crosses and rosaries, statues, and general gifts for one receiving a sacrament. Clerical robes are usually on display in the front of the store. It's a great alternative to the toy or department store for a meaningful Christmas or Easter gift. The staff is friendly and helpful. They will take special orders.

I love Payless shoes. I get my kids their shoes here and mine as well. I've found some really great deals over the years. They've gotten a lot better in quality. I found a great pair of fisherman sandals just like the $90 ones they sell at Nordstrom. I found out that all the designers for those fancy shoe labels (Keen, Nine West, etc) design for Payless as well. Go figure! Exact same stuff, only in manmade materials, not leather. They should get Alicia SIlverstone to be their spokesperson. But I digress...
This location is convenient (in the Tacoma Mall, right across from Old Navy - woo hoo!). I am a regular customer, and it doesn't break the bank to buy shoes for 4 or 5 people here.

Everything in the store is a collectible. I am a big fan of the movie "The Crow" and this store had like 10 different Crow items, I couldn't believe it...plus tons of other stuff from movies and shows from when I was a kid. This store is awesome.

Take your time when visiting Dwell. They have so many lovely items to see, but they are also the sweetest girls ever. You'll need a couple extra minutes just to chat.
If you're looking for an array of unusual items this is your store! :-) I'm so tired of Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel et al. It's fun to have a boutique where everything doesn't look the same. Seemed that all of the cutsie boutique places of the past were all but gone, so I'm thrilled to have a place like Dwell close by.
Good job girls! You're the very best Tacoma has to offer. I'll be back! Over and over and over!
