I highly recommend Stanley and Seaforts. I thought it might be a stuffy and out of date place, but it turned out to be the best restaurant in Tacoma (actually our best experience in all of Seattle too). Our server made a big difference, she was very knowledgeable and excited about the food. Highly recommend the steak dishes and scallop dishes. We're going back next month. Pros: Excellent priced mixed drinks Cons: wine servings small, stay with the mixed drinks.

This is my favorite restaurant. If you are going to take me out to dinner, this is where I want to go. The view of the Tacoma area is the best in town. The wine selection is fabulous and they also make great mixed drinks to go with your meal. It has nice wait staff and it is a great place to take a date. It is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with this part of town, and it is also not the best neighborhood, so make sure to lock the doors on your car. Other than that, enjoy your night out at Tacoma's best restaurant.

A restaurant with excellent food and a spectacular view. Appetizers are very tasty and the steaks are prepared to perfection. The food is just really good and repeat visits are definitely in order. There are a lot of choices on the menu and the meals are a bit pricy but worth it. I would definitely recommend Stanley & Seafort's for either dinner or lunch.

All previous reviews are obviously by people who don't know what fine dining is!! The only thing Stanley and Seaforts has going for it is a nice view of the Sound and downtown Tacoma. The food is not all that great and it really isn't worth the price. I asked the waiter how the steak was seasoned and after about choking around for the right words to market the horrible steak, she said it comes with a sauce. Now those who know what a good steak is definitely know that the only steak you need sauce for is a poorly preapred steak. I went ahead and ordered since I was craving a steak and it was cold, thin, and had no flavor. By the way, it was my second time there and I managed to get the same snotty waiter who acts like she is jealous that she has no man to take her out to dinner, she is rude and I won't return! If you want a trully delicious steak, with a quiet and romantic atmosphere, try El Gaucho on Pacific Ave. in downtown Tacoma. By the way, the restaurant is too crowded and the tables are VERY close to each other.

The most recent time I went, we had the brie appetizer, which my husband was very skeptical of since he did not like brie. I say ?did? because after that appetizer he changed his mind. Our food was great, the server was top notch, and I had a lavender martini that was so interesting and very delicious. Make reservations, and ask for a window table if you can. Pros: food, atmosphere, service Cons: it's a bit noisy

This spot as stated before is an excellent place to a take a date. It has fantastic views of Tacoma and the ambience is really nice. My husband took me there for my 25th birthdayand I had a wonderful evening. I highly, higly, higly, recommend the crab and dungeness dip and ciabatta bread apetizer. It is absolutely wonderful! The main courses are rich and full of flavor. I had the garlic shrimp and my husband had the USDA New YorkSteak. Th food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I would definetly recommend going when the sun will be going down over the city so you can enjoy your meal with a beautiful view. All in all this place is a little pricey, but well worth it. Treat your husband/wife or that special date tonight!!! Pros: Excellent Views, Courteous Service, Delicious Food Cons: Pricey
