I love going to the Grand Cinema for shows you won't see playing at the multiplex. Parking is easy and there are many places in downtown Tacoma to eat beforehand.

The Grand Cinema was started by people who wanted to view the art house films that you can see every week in Seattle. The staff are all volunteers and patrons are encouraged to join the group. ... More

The Grand Cinema was started by people who wanted to view the art house films that you can see every week in Seattle. The staff are all volunteers and patrons are encouraged to join the group. There are three movie screens and this theater seems to show the movies a few weeks after Seattle does, but at least you can see them without driving all the way to Seattle. Parking is not a problem and there is a coffee house nearby if you have the urge. The movie theater is on the old side and the seats are old too - not uncomfortable, but not comfy either. Huge movie posters adorn all the walls.
