One of the greatest electronic items to come a long has to be the Pride Scooter. I love mine and if it weren't for the scooter I would be stuck in my home and never be able to leave on my own accord unless someone could take time out and come to my rescue. I can not use my hands to wheel my self in a non electric wheel chair. Pride brand has actually built the Pride Scooter with great pride, they just seem to be the best buy for your money (yes I actually paid for mine no help from insurance or anybody) my Pride has been through it all and it just keeps on working and run better and faster than most of the scooters out there my feelings are if mine ever goes bad it will be replaced with a new Pride. What a great company for putting thought behind the scooter development compliance to actually helping the person before there pocket book Pride is a great company. Thank you Pride for the pride you put in my life.

I had to go to the General Medical Clinics for an exam.
The wait until I was called in was fairly short. The lady who took down my information was a little rude, not just to me but to the gentleman behind me taking in his son for an illness. The nurses and the dr were pretty nice though and seemed to be working well together.
I got out of there pretty fast. Would I go back? Probably not, because I have other clinics closer to me.

Totally knew his stuff. I'd trust this guy with my kids, even though you can tell he's lost his passion for it. Maybe it was the time of day we went, who knows, but it was like he was just "working there." Really knew his stuff though, smart guy.
The only detractor here is that I felt that we were rushed in and out, and like they were all reading from scripts that they repeated 50 times a day to every patient. We were seen for barely a few minutes when a definitive diagnosis was given, part of the pitfalls of Western medicine. I didn't even know what questions to ask about this, and I felt like a deer in the headlights. I felt like I wasn't listened to, and I'm in the medical field, so I know what providers have to do with patients and their limitations by insurance.
I didn't schedule the surgery for my son, even though they pressured me to, twice, by two of their female staff members. I felt like I was getting the hard-sell from a used car lot. Just made me feel creepy, so his dad and I agreed to get a second opinion from another ENT in the Seattle area.

I don't know why it is, but the chocolate chip cookies I can get at Safeway stores are the best I have found. The reason is that they're always soft, never getting hard and dry like other cookies. (Of course, these cookies never last very long so they don't even get a chance to become hard and dry!)
Safeway has high prices unless you have a 'club card,' but not everything is included on it. The Bakery is always excellent, the goods are fresh and smell wonderful. Sometimes they even hand out small samples.

I have a thyroid problem and need to have it removed. My endocrinologist referred me to Mt. Rainier Surgical Associates.
I had an appointment scheduled for May 7 at 2:20 PM. Two days before my appt., the doctor's office called to reschedule me for earlier in the day so the doctor (Dr. Porter) could be out of the office the afternoon of the 7th. Fine. I'm flexible.
So the day of May 7th, I drive down to Tacoma, I'm not that familiar with the city and take a wrong turn. I finally got back on track and found the location, and the parking lot was full. I drove over to another parking lot, it was full also, and a fire truck was blocking the other end, so I had to back all the way out. I went across the campus towards a parking garage and got stuck in a circular driveway because a handi-van was blocking the driveway. I sat for close to 5 minutes before backing up and maneuvering my way down an alley and back onto the main street. I found the parking garage and got stuck behind an elderly woman driving less than 2 miles an hour up 6 stories to the available parking on the roof. I then had to run almost 2 blocks back to the building because I was going to be late. When I arrived, I handed them the paperwork they had sent as well as my insurance card, and they asked for the $20 co-pay. I didn't have it -- I am a single mom who is unemployed and I just didn't have it . I asked if they could bill me, and the receptionist said she would have to check with the doctor. She left and after a few minutes came back to inform me that they would have to reschedule me because the doctor wouldn't see me because I didn't have my $20 co-pay. I informed her I would not be returning and asked for my personal information back.
It took a lot of effort to make this appointment, and I have been having anxiety about having this surgery. It would have been nice to made to feel like I was important and cared for. Instead I felt like I wasn't worth $20.
Pros: NONE
Cons: Uncaring doctors, receptionists with attitude

Becareful with what these dentists say your teeth need to have done. Get a second opinion. In my experience this dentist dragged on my check ups and resulting procedures. I had second opinions that said they did needless procedures that simply raised my out of pocket costs and insurince claims. They told me I needed oral surgury, another said that there was no evidence to justify a surgical procedure.

By far the worst pediatrician I have ever encountered. He is very paternalistic, so if you have any questions, he poo-poos you like you are the biggest dummy on the planet. He's one of those old school "god-complex" doctors who thinks that he knows all. Granted, he's been in the business for a really long time, but perhaps it's time to retire.
To quote him, "If you have a homebirth, you're going to kill your baby." What responsible doctor says that to a pregnant mother??? Does he not read the evidence that says that homebirth is SAFER than hospital birth, and it's continually proven to be safer?
And don't bother even bringing up a question about vaccines - he will pretty much make you feel like the worst parent in the world if you even sniff at a question, even if you agree with him. He's just got NO bedside manner, is very gruff, "my way or the highway."
He sees no validity in proven evidence-based research, because the way he's been doing it all along is best. That's NOT the kind of ped that you want!
I'm also very leery of doctors who are so quick to prescribe meds when they don't even ask too much about symptoms. Ear hurts? Oh, here's the antibiotic. Never mind that it might be regular old teething! It's almost like he shows up for work and hates it, and takes it out on his patients.
Go with Miki Hayes at Fir Creek Pediatrics in UP. She actually keeps on on the literature and will listen to you.
I have been through MANY peds, and this one if BY FAR the worst one I've ever encountered.

This is a retirement community located in the strangest area. It is almost in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, the building exterior is well maintained and pleasant to look at. There is ample parking. Inside, I would not have my dog live here. It has a stench, I noticed strong tobacco smells, and is not as clean as I would like.
I know the administrative staff to have a high turnaround.

This is an independent living and assisted living facility located on alot of acreage. It is almost like its own community. The outside has a large parking lot and the grounds are immaculately well kept. It is very eye appealing. The inside has an absolutely beautiful chapel with superb acoustics. There is ample room to maneuver in here.
I know of some of their administrative staff to be uncaring and impersonal. For that reason, a low rating is warranted.

I went to pick up some pictures during December and noticed that there was a huge sale going on at the Jcpenney optical shop right next to the photo studio. So I stopped in, found a great pair of Halston frames that fit my face perfectly, and bought them (I was carrying around my Rx since I had been looking for a new pair of glasses for about a month). The total came to $119.60. I was so happy!
At the time of purchase (a weekday), I was the only person in the shop, so I was helped immediately by the friendly serviceperson there. My glasses came in two days later, and I was elated. However, they did not fit right.
They adjusted them in store, but the adjustment never seemed quite "right." Close, but not as good as the old pair of workhorse glasses I had at home. I had to take these back three times to get readjusted, because they just never felt right. And I always had to wait in line, when there was only 1 staff member to help everyone in the shop.
I finally gave up, when 3 months into owning these glasses, they started to creak on the left. THey were pretty cheapo frames too. So I took them back in, only to have to wait in line behind 5 people, because again, there was only 1 staff person on a busy Sunday to help everyone.
One lady left, and I just got tired of waiting, so I decided to return the glasses. The disgruntled and disaffected staff person was ranting about how there was no one there to help her, so she was just going to go as slow as possible to compensate for her bad job and bad manager.
How sad. It seems that this shop, even though it has great merchandise, is very poorly managed. There is no manager around, only staff worker(s) (if that!). And they don't know much, even about how to run the register. I've worked crummy service jobs before, but really, if you don't like it - quit instead of insulting the rest of us to make a point about how bad off you are! I can't stand those attitudes.
Poorly trained + bad attitudes + lack of staffing = a returned pair of glasses and no repeat business from me!
